Quick Figure Construction tutorial, also detailing my process. Mainly did it because I thought it would be a handy reference for other people who are having some trouble constructing figures.

"Never regret thy fall from grace, O' spirit of Icarian flight, for the greatest tragedy of them all to face, is to never feel the burning bright"
Believe my lies, for I tell the truth about them. Or would you rather me lie about telling the truth?

Heya Liffey I left a message on your SB. But anyways, looking forward to working with you on Distinctions

    MaFeng:

Thank you Glad I was able to help.

    Anyway, an update:

This piece was a milestone for me - I originally drew in the linework, but with previous attempts when I tried to fill the image with value, I kept dropping the ball. However, this time, it worked out. I'll be itching to do images in this vein more often.

hey awsome sb love the enviros and concept designs cool stuff also great anatomy studies you can see huge improvement from the first page to the last. great stuff only crit/comment would be keep studying anatomy and proportions and maybe try doing longer studies of the figure from multiple angles and positions a great master to study from would be michelangelo especially his sculptures

ps awsome zbrush stuff man awsome !

Here's another update for today. I haven't slept for the past 18 hours, I'm about to crash . Been doing stuff on Distinctions (Game), as well as doing personal work - Primarily this one. Which took a LOOONG time. Mainly because I was trying to figure out painter, as well as trying to paint with value instead of linework.

The story in my head on this piece changed quite a few times. At first, I was going to do some statue of Ozymandias (The one from the poem, not Watchmen) in a cavern, with light filtering through the top. Then the two "Body Guard" statues emerged from random painting. Then I accidentally clicked off a few layers, and the layers and silhouettes looked like an angel spreading its wings. Then I realised that the scene was a very desaturated yellow. And with a combination of those, the story in my head for the image developed into an Angel shackled to a chair, by the two guard keepers, in some wasteland or other.

Still not as good as I'd like it to be, but hey, baby steps:

Thanks for the comments - would prefer some critiques though, heheh

Anyway, I spent a good portion of the last several hours photographing my sketchbooks that I've been keeping (and gone through) for the previous year.

I've got like around 290 images of sketches, as well as a surprise at the end.

Now I've got to spend a couple more hours uploading these pages....

Hopefully this won't crash our collective browsers, but here goes:

Edit: There's still more coming, but I posted it earlier by accident, which is good I guess, as if the browser closes by accident, I'll be screwed, and wasted 2 hours trying to upload manually. The batch uploader can't come any sooner.
