    Project 1 FInal Drawings

Here is my shading attempts at a coffee cup that turned out horrible. I really think my rendering of the 3 shoulder bones turned out the best. I am to embarrassed to show any of my simple figure sketches, so I am not going to post any of them. I will try and draw 1 or 2 figures with the correct proportions........

heres every thing i completed for the project, although it doesn't seem like it i think a learned a lot from doing some of these figures, i used mostly a hb and then for the shading one i used a h and a hb and a 3b

Didn't even try the bones and shading. I was way more concerned with doing proportions, and even then simply getting them right in 2D. I tried a couple of different approaches to getting the figure started, from using stick figures to boxes, spheres and cylinders. Still haven't decided which method I like most. I have a bunch of work ahead of me .

P.S.: The big one in the middle doesn't count .

Here are my attempts at the project. (Did I mention I an EXTREME BEGINNER!?) Anyway, you've got to start somewhere. I haven't done spartan camp for the simple reason that my figures really, well they scream beginner. But now that I've done some here, I think I'm going to start doing spartan camp also. Maybe after a few weeks, my figures will start to look like figures. As for my shoulder bones, they have the same problem as my figures, I'm a beginner and probably need to draw them a hundred more times before they start to really look like shoulder bones.

Here are the figure sketches and the shading. Ill get the bones up tomorrow. I have never actually done figures and I think this really helped point out what I need to work on. Any and all critiques welcome. And yes, I know my legs are to short, definitely something I need to work on.

Uh huh! Can I join too?
Maybe I'm not extreme beginner, but I'm beginer nonetheless, and this exercises seem just right for me.
Anyway here are my manekins/gestures (might be 1 or 2 short..)

It seems to me that making lines (like I did in some of them) might be helpful to learn proportions at first. It sure helped me to get things a little better.

And here is "the shaded object", my glorious foot:

With bone pics, it would be cool if someone more experienced could tell me if I've done the proportions/position right before I start shading it. Because I've tried hard to make some sense out of it but I'm still not sure if it's right:

Thanks Meandering Man! It breaks the monotony of drawing gestures for me, when I start imageing it as scenes with manikins reacting to each other, and somehow, sometimes emotions happen.

As for your problem with legs - Maybe you could try concentrate less on the height of the figure being 8 heads, and more on the figure being divided in half in the crotch. Since I also have problems with proportions, I try to start with "bigger" elements first.
    Hope this helps!

Great work man, I really like the hand and the face; you did a good gob on the feathered doll too. The only thing I might recommend is making your darks a little darker on some of the sketches, I think that the lamp and the your first sketch especially could use a little more contrast.

Anyways I will try to get my sketches uploaded when I get home tonight.

Ok, here we go. No bones yet, but with any luck I'll get them done over the weekend. I really need to get a scanner, these things look a lot better than my camera makes them out to be.

Meandering Man, Im glad to see yours, I was afraid that Im all alone here And thanx for the tip. I guess you might be right, the lamp is not only kinda grey but it also gets lost in the heavy outline. Ill have to work on that...

Hi nonsane. If you would like to join beginners corner, you should look here first.

I liked your works on deviant art. You could open a sketchbook in sketchbook section, and put them there. Its a good place to get some comments and crits.

Really horribly late project #2 posting

    Better late then never!

Heres my contribution to project #2. I know it's really late and really terrible. I also tried a new shading technique. My scanner sucks.....

    Project 2 + weekly project

here it is i finally got around to finish of everything, my bone studies, and my i think 7 pencil sketches. Also i put in the most recent project in the end too.

i have all the b and h pencil and i used more then 3 of them for the more detailed pencil drawings. i followed the exact steps that i posted for the project and it worked ok.

i learned a fair bit from this project

heres my anatomy part for project 3.

Im posting this on the same day of posting the project, because thats how long it should take! this stuff should take only 40 mins, an hour tops.

this is what im talking about just get the shape dont worry about details or tone everyones should look around the same quality as mine you shouldn't spend a lot of time on the anatomy for now, exclude the detailed ribs the final still shouldn't be that detailed
