How to make gemstones and crisp lines.
Hello. I'm a tad new here, but I've been lurking on and off trying to incorporate all this information. Basically, I have studied Traditional art and painting, but I am getting back to it in earnest so I'm a little out of shape. I'll try to post a sketchbook of sorts to get back into things.
I guess one of the main frustrations is trying to get gemstones right! It seems simple enough, but the Photoshop tutorials that I've looked through are just downright frustrating for simple or symmetrical shapes. However, I'm trying to find a way to do it, but to enable myself at different perspectives to emulate a real life faceted gemstone. I've gotten a few pointers, and am even thinking of doing an Illustrator to Photoshop transplant for crisper lines. For some reason, when I save it as a JPG the lines blur and it drives me nuts.
If there is any assistance or suggestions, or even tutorials, that would be wonderful. I've searched and was not able to pull anything directly.
Thanks so much.
