I really like the first picture you posted. It reminds me a lot of the Tomb Raider movie for some reasson, maybe its just because of the statue in the bacground?

I dont know, it just works very well together and I like the waterfall you put into the picture.

Keep up the good bacgrounds, I know theyre really hard to make.

Thank you! I want to become a matte painter, so you will definitely see more landscape concepts.

Was busy over the weekend, so I didn't get a chance to post. Here's something I did yesterday.

less custom brushes and more lines whould be really good for you, theres not realu understanding in shapes.

though the last forrest is pretty good.

*nod* Thanks for your comments I'm trying to work more with the regular brushes, although custom ones work really well for leaves on trees! I'm glad you think the forest shows improvement, that's all I can hope for.

So, after doing this picture, I really realized that I need to work on shadows and lighting a lot...not really sure how to begin, maybe just some value sketches?

    Here's another quick landscape.

This took about 2 hours with a reference, 'cause I'm slow. Close-up mountains are definitely a skill I need to improve!

Hey, really nice stuff in this thread. Your first one is awesome. On your last piece, one thing I would suggest is that you use less of the custom brushes, and more of your own texture-making with the hard brush. Or at least break up the patterns a bit. You can tell on the right part of the water and the grass in front, that you used the same brush over and over. You should do some texture studies with just the hard brush.

Another painting. Tried to work on landscaping without custom brushes. Started with a value sketch and then colorized it.
