    JanDaniel's Sketchbook

    Hey ho guys,

    i'm new here.
My name is Jan and i'm from germany. i'm 20 years old and working with a tablet for 2-3 months now.
yeah, i know. my images quality is very low, my skill is... wait... what skill?

i was drawing a little bit in the past. i loved it, but i never "learned" to draw. i mean i never took such studies of poses and proportions. it's a... yeah, call it "moody thing" to me. but i want to get a more professional look...

so, i only tried a little bit the tablet out. i try every technique i read in a tutorial.
i'm finding my own way to draw at the moment.

i hope, you don't hate my stuff to much... ...

...and yeah... one idea is stolen (ONLY the idea... the third one) =)

and i'm very glad about every comment!

Hey! I'm glad I took the time to peek in here!
Another admirer of the female form I see!
It seems to me that you are going for a realistic
    finish to your paintings.
Something I want to do with my art as well
( I'm still not there though....)
This SB is on my HOT list.

i saw some time ago my pictures on another display... and now i have to excuse myself for this saturation...
i just realized that my monitor is... old... less contrast...

take a look at my new stuff.
i tried to use no reference... but i think im just not ready for such things...

    happy about every comment! =)

Nice work. But your colours look flat, you gotta work the depth more. The best piece so far is probably the Angel. A lot of the other women are great, but there's not enough tonal changes in the lights and darks. Keep working though, they're looking great.

    good start
i like your ideas and overall designs but the coloring to me is a little flat, putting more contrast in your work will really make everything come more forward.
the one with the snail (love the design) is really heading in the right direction, also dont use black for shading, it makes everything look kind of dirty.

    keep it up

    Hey JanDaniel!
    what? no new gorgeous women?
seriously though...I am digging the new color works you've posted!
but like everybody said, more contrast so that some colors pop out.
( something I need to work on as well)
now go back and draw more gorgeous women for me to drool over!

looking forward to new updates from yah!

Hey there JanDaniel! I must say i really like ur works here! the gory ones and the cartoonish as well... i really like the 2 silhouettes that one is rly good, and the fur on the yellow cat is astonishing... one thing that bothers me a bit is the arms of the angel in pink but otherwise nice going

dont be so hard on yourself! I just recently got a brand spanking new wacom myself and am still learning. i think you should push the old skin texture more in your work. i really like that. dont be afraid to really break up the lines and texture as if it was a painting or drawing on paper. blending can be good but it needs to be balanced you know? keep up the great work.

    help me become better!
