Hey. Just got to thank you for the demos you posted. I'm a first year illustration student from Sheridan and I have to say they are really helpful in trying to get anatomy in my head. And since my figure drawing is suffering a bit these are a godsend.

Sucks that I don't live anywhere near Cali, if I did I would try to apply for your classes in a heartbeat. Oh well...

    So thanks.

    oh. damn.

Not what I think of when I think of "study." This feels like something I'd copy for a "study."

Great studies! They've really helped clear up a lot of issues I've had in figure drawing, especially the legs.

Tim Solliday Landscape Painting Workshop at 3Kicks Fine Art Studio

Charles Hu Figure Drawing Lecture*updated 4/21/2011*

    Hello all,

This is a reminder of the Landscape Painting workshop by the well known Plein Air artist Tim Solliday at 3Kicks Fine Art Studio on March 15th.
The workshop is on Sunday, March 15th from 10 am to 5 pm. Fee is $135 ($125 + $10 registration fee)

What this workshop is about: This workshop will concentrate on how to interpret light in nature with a strong emphasis on values and color. The objective will be a solid sketch that accurately depicts conditions of light, rather than trying to make pretty pictures.

About Tim: Born in Ottumwa, Iowa. Tim currently resides in Southern California, foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Solliday has been featured in numerous magazines, including American Artist, Art –Talk, International Artist and Southwest Art . He was the subject of a front page Los Angeles Times feature. He was also featured in Southwest Artist and Western Art Collector in July 2008. Tim Solliday is a Signature Member of the California Art Club and a member of the Laguna Art Association. He is represented by Altermann Galleries and Auctioneers, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and New York City; Trailsides Gallery, Scottsdale Arizona and Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Michael Hollis Fine Art, Los Angeles and South Pasadena, California. Solliday has participated in the Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational since its inception, placing second in 2001 and third in 2000. He also placed first in the landscape category of the 1993 Oil Painters of America competition, as well as in the California Art Club’s 86th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition. Solliday was also a part of the 2008 Masters of the West at Autry National Center in Los Angeles, California.
