    Farvus' enviro of the day

    Hey folks.

So far the daily exercises (self portraits, compositions) I did in Fine art section were fairly successful when it comes to learning new things. It would be waste not to continue anything in the same spirit. I thought about it for longer while and finally decided to start new personal thread dedicated entirely to environments. Of course there is sketchbook but I like how I can see the whole spectrum of work from just one subject and how it changes with time.
I'm planning to start simple and try to stay within relatively small amount of time for each peace (about 1hr). For daily exercise it always worked when it wasn't very time consuming beacausethe whole thing is already pretty exhausting mentally. I hope I'm going to just keep doing it.

    Here's something for a start.

This one is a bit outside my comfort zone. Gotta do more pencil perspectives.

Brown or not brown? I'd like to see more a mix of colour. Compositions are looking great.

Black Spot - You mean trying less monochromatic palettes or playing more with temperature?

This one is a bit Sammy Hall inspired.

The design sucks beacause I focused entirely on color and light.

Forcing myself to do more complex stuff. I tend to focus too much recovering few painted details instead of adding new ones.

What I meant was cools in warm pictures and warms in the cool pictures. But please carry on as I'm enjoying this thread.

    Black Spot - hehe. Ok.

    11.

Conscious attempt to not repeat myself too much and put something different in every little part of the piece. Unfortunately at the cost of realism but cartoony can be good too (man, I'm so inconsistent :/). What mostly matters to me right now is that I'm leaving my comfort zone.

The last one is cool. I love the overall mood. Undefined shapes behind the main tower give nice felling of enormous space. In relation with dynamic brush strokes it looks fascinating. I'm looking for more

Ros1 - Thanks. Glad you like it

Missed one day beacuse of friends meeting.

This one started from random shapes while listening to ambient music. A bit too indecisive in few parts.

Man, I love this new brush I came up with. Gives nice range of edges and I can get many textures/randomness with it.

On one hand I hate to repeat myself but on the other hand it feels so awkward when I look at all my environments done so far. Looks like done be mentally unstable person. I can only hope it will get more consistent in future.

I came up with this one after playing with color sliders. The mix of gray and azure color almost immediately made me recalll this type of landscape so I grabbed some photo and added few missing colors and details. Luckily the clouds on the photo had some weird purle rainbow-like effect going on at the edge so I instantly got focal point for my picture. This would be way more boring with just empty sky.

After watching el coro's video about cinematic storyboarding. Composition improvised on the fly. I actually started with empty perspective scene and later realised some action would spice it up.

Super fast acrylic sketch. I wanted to fit into 8 minutes beacause that's how much I could record with my digital camera . Painting on large format is so much fun even though the final result is not so impressive. I going to do more of that.

The video is 2x faster than the original.
