Really amazing work! I have definitely found new inspiration from your sketchbook. I love how you use inks and watercolor. It's either bold and sharp or it's smooth and fluid. Great contrast in a sketchbook! I'll keep my eye on your stuff.

Hey, thanks for all the kind words everybody.

Here's a quick one from tonight. Water color and ink plus a little bit of PhotoShop tweaking.

I'm loving the way you ink your pics.
    Use a paintbrush? Brushpen?

I use one of these dudes: http://www.dickblick.com/zz050/02/, a Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Pointed Round. I think mine is a No. 2 size. I should have ordered it on-line though. I think I paid 24 bucks for mine. But it's lasted for the last 3 months and is only getting better to use. all the 4 & 5 dollar brushed I bought died within 2 weeks.

I recently did a bunch of tests and this is the ink I settled on: http://www.dickblick.com/zz211/04/, Speedball Super Black Waterproof India Ink. It's super cheap by the quart and is pretty opaque and matte. although not as opaque as "Pro Black" and not as matte as "Higgin's Black Magic". FW ink was the runner up in my test.

Wow... beautiful, man. Seriously. My cat tends to supervise as well, mostly my architecture work, though... I did have a question... how is it you constantly put down watercolor, ink, markers and such onto your sketchbooks yet I don't see it bleeding through? Great stuff, I'm gonna subscribe!

I don't think I've ever seen watercolor used so nicely, and in a way where it's used is still defined, and not completely smeared and blended (if that makes sense...) Do you ink your works after you've used your watercolors?

dude, so happy to see there is another artist here who still does things the old fashion way, not to mention your 'old school' style, which is spot on. great stuff that stands apart and above all the photoshop and painter stuff I see here. also, as an ex-tattoo artist I think you'd be pretty good at it, there is a fringe hotrod/punk niche crowd that would eat up your style.

Really cool. Your watercolors remind me of Dustin Nguyen's stuff (duss005.deviantart.com) but with your own unique twist.

    I'll be following this.

Great style and watercolour use. Looking at the sketchbook and the photo with the cat I see you draw quite a few comic pages, is that something you do for a living?

Thanks everybody! It's really neat to see so many people leaving comments. It really means a lot to me.

IanE: Just about everything I do in my sketch books bleeds a little. The only thing that really gives me a problem is Sharpie markers. I love them but they bleed too much for my taste.
MonkeYoakum: The Schnoz! I have a serious problem with drawing noses too big. It drives me nuts!
    bhanu: true...
ohnojenny: I usually ink and then paint and then re-ink some parts.
Erick Willand: I would be a terrible tattoo artist! My approach to drawing is to try my damnedest to not care about fucking up. If it doesn't turn out right I can start again. That's hard to do with skin!
a la bapsi: Just make sure you clean your brush! a lot! When I'm inking I try to rinse out my brush at least every 30 mins or so.
BubbaGump: Thanks! I really admire Dustin Nguyen's water colors. His big head stuff is top notch!
D.C.: I'm just starting to do comics professionally. I'm hoping to start doing comics full time real soon.

Here are a few from this mornings life drawing session these each took between 5 and 20 min each:
