a la bapsi: I don't know what she wants anymore!!! sob!!! It's not like when we first met. Back then I could drag my pencil across her creamy white face all day long. Now it's like she doesn't even know me!
Bill: Thanks! I'm glad you liked the Wolverine pages. The writer I'm working with has put together a great story and I'm just hoping that I can do it justice.
Here is the above mentioned oils-in-the-sketchbook. I'll try to post a real scan in a few days when it's dry. And check out a screen shot of my newly re-designed website which can be seen at www.mrcrook.com Hurray for Cascading Style Sheets!!!
Looking at your work makes me deliriously giddy. I appreciate the sensation immensely.
I LOVE the comics on your website. But I can't get the car crash link to work. Is it me?
I really like the Mr. Elephant stuff. Can't wait to see more of that. I was instantly drawn into the characters' stories.
a la bapsi: ha ha Art is a brutal mistress!
DoubleThink: Thanks! I've been focusing lately on oils and have sort of been neglecting my watercolors. I wish there were about 20 more hours in each day. Then I could do everything.
erinel: Thanks! Yeah. It's ALWAYS Rasputin. That dude is ridiculously easy to draw.
t11: Thanks! I do it all for you!
BRINKMAN! : Thanks! That reel feels pretty old already. It's almost a year old. But I'm glad you liked it. I wish more people did! ha!
Dan Valkar: Thanks!
crazy3dman: Ha! it's not you it's me being sloppy and not testing everything before I uploaded it. It's fixed now. Thanks for the comment regarding Mr. Elephant. That's one of the first projects I've really tried to write and I feel a little self-conscious about it sometimes.
Here's the paintings that I did today and some sketchbook pages (Including a better scan of the one from a few days ago).
Nice update, don't know if it was intentional but I like the red of the lipstick and the nail polish showing up in the 2 pieces. The moleskins are always cool and I checked your site today and really enjoy it. My favorite is probably the comics page with the liquor store. Good Stuff.
The vitality in your sketch book pages are always a nice surprise on the eyes. It's apparent that you enjoy what you're doing and keeping things interesting, super fr-fr-fr-fresh! Not sure if i've commented here before but just wanted to say thanks for posting these; this SB got me to try watercolors and ink again when I was in a huge artistic rut almost a year ago
Zord: Wow! Thanks for the comment. I've been a big fan of you avatar for a while.
A tua mãe: Thanks! Economy of stoke is something that I've been working on. Someday I'll even be consistent with it!
GHill: Thanks for stopping by! You gotta try ink and water color! Actually you gotta try everything you can get your hands on!
Jens: Thanks! Grab those acrylics and get cracking. All those awesome paintings aren't going to paint themselves!
Here's a few quickies for fun:
love it! great watercolors.
i've been here before and loved the confidence brewing from your strokes.

Speaking of inspiration
Thanks for the visit/thanks for continued posting because I certainly visit here to revel in the joy that is your work.
I haven't been here in ages and I hate myself for it! I love that last portrait, and I love all the heads in the previous post I totally dig that retro-vibe of your style.
I've now subscribed to your wonderful book so I won't be missing any more of your work
Victor B: Thanks!
minjarr: Thanks dude!!
t11: Seeing your moleskine a few weeks ago got me really pumped to work on mine a lot more. Thanks!
entdroid: Don't hate yourself! we all make mistakes sometimes
I was cleaning up my desk today and I came across all these sheets of paper that I doodle on when I'm waiting for my computer to finish thinking about stuff. These are just 8.5 x 11 sheets of printer paper that I fold in half and then go to town on. So I thought I'd share them because there are a few fun little gems in there. Also down there at the bottom is a portrait of my dog, Metatron. He might be the best dog on the planet.
oooooh i love that last one!!! digging the inks there a lot
SKODA, I just love your thread, its always have me such inspiration, your just so amazin with watercolor, and your oil pages are gettin so good, keep em coming sir.

BRINKMAN!: Thanks, dude!
With this page I was trying to approximate the drawing style of Moebius. The other day I saw an interview with him on YouTube. He said that when he was designing Blueberry he wanted to make a character overflowing with male sexuality. For some reason it struck me as really funny. I love His art work but I occasionally find him to be really creepy. And I don't think I really achieved a Moebius look.
