    AmPed's Sketchbook - Updates daily

Hey guys, I am very new to drawing, but i love it so far. I am looking for crits on all my pieces, anything that can help me will be awesome.

I got rid of the very first sketches, as they were on lined paper, and hideous.

If you're into doing graffiti, start with simple block letters and add some bends, make them overlap a little. make sure all the letter widths are the same! when you're okay at drawing simples, put some add-ons on there for a more wildstyle look...

also learn your history! learn the difference between a handstyle, blockbuster, throw up, piece and wildstyle!

    I obviously suck, but there's a pic I did.

get some inspirations from http://www.bombingscience.com/graffitiforum/ , post your stuff into toys forum and you'll get some feedback...... peace!

So I'm actually going to draw, and not stop this time, I'm going to make sure of it.

    Here's my dilemma right now:

I know everyone says draw from life, but It's 5:19 AM, and I figured drawing from a picture isn't too bad. I noticed that when it comes to shading I'm completely lost, this entire sketch is with an HB pencil, and tbh I don't know when to use the others, my shading is really sloppy. I don't know how to shade the hat without creating a huge blob of black mixing in with the hair, and I cannot make folds come out right at all on the clothing.

    any help is appreciated.

keep drawing keep drawing. Go read 'drawing from the right side of the brain' by betty edwards,it will help you draw what you see rather than what you have built into your head...which is why that girl looks scary D:

    keep going

Thanks Will for the honesty. I actually bought the book a long time ago and slacked off and never read it. I will now, thanks!

I second what FootstepsBeckon said, read "drawing on the right side of the brain" and draw every single day, remember, you learn to draw by drawing.
and a tip about teeth, don't draw every single line between them, draw some lines that sugest them.
That's it keep it up ^^
