Lovely work on that lighting Hideyoshi! I always find that when i struggle with a painting i learn more from it, but maybe you were just having an off day? Anyway, the sketch looks great, nice work!

Chaos, can this be a space facility built on the ground? Like a station on the planet's surface?

    sure
    not nessisarily
    trainstations are on the ground

do think it needs some indication of it's spacy nature
    decrepit space ships perhaps

    airless planet perhaps

    Thumbs up

Its a wonderful wide open topic, I think allowing it to be based on the ground would make it too open, maybe at most on an asteroid or something

Abandoned space station, Ie : Space!

    * my two cents *

what ever..if it kicks ass I'll take it to poll
even if it stretches things...if its lame I won't

    simple as that
thats the funny thing about EOW, I think it scares people. we may never have the 50+ entry problem CHOW has. for instance last week we had Eight finished works, BUT those Eight were pure gold. I cant vote because I cant decide. as long as beautiful work is coming out of it its totally worth it.
    Thanks for Playing people!

I appreciate the time and effort that goes into this

    Hello

Can we depict the space station in the process of being abandoned?

Goran and Hideyoshi on the same environmental premise? Grab your oxygen masks.

Hide - The position and the light cast on the astronaut's helmet is cinematic and brings the scene to life. I've noticed lately that your choice of environ in your speed paintings has been the insides of mechanical silos, corridors lit by an azure light, and train stations. These sinister genres all come together for an epic display. One thing that's unclear: the reason why the space station is abandoned in this concept. A leaking oxygen vent? An unknown explosion caused by a breach in the space station's hull? Alien organism? The question needs no answer. I can imagine the eventuality of the dead light, the floating astronaut, and the space station colliding with one of 11 moons in a faraway galaxy.

goran - I was wondering what planetary forest you trekked off into - excellent entry. The space station's jagged structure almost reminds me of an upside down metropolis, only sharp tipped in your version.

Where've you been hiding this topic, Chaos?

Still very rough. My initial contribution to this discourse of imagery. I want to make the hangar feel more decayed and more futuristic. I am also thinking of showing some elements of the stations exterior...perhaps a salvage ship entering the bay? Plus, the space needs more work. Hopefully I'll have some time tomorrow night.

Hideyoshi> you are always inspirational. Thanks for leading the way. Great light and texture.

Goran> I love the skeletal chaos of your station. And the stark light and deep shadows are very evocative with the diagonal streaks of visible light.
