A very early work in progress, not much of anything is finished, so I haven't a clue if I'll be able to complete this by the deadline...time will tell. All I knew is I wanted to stray away from dragons and just wanted a strong shot of a single rider (perhaps, time permitting I'll add some small battles going on in the distance). - For the "Light Side"

Little WIP so far.
Edit: Final...for now. Might play around with the background a bit more and some other things, but I though I'd get this in before this closes.
Edit the Edit: Finished I guess. Oh and yeah, it's for the dark side

One thing that might help is switching to B&W and looking at your values alone and consider the focus areas in your painting. With the big wall and other things going on my eye doesn't know where to focus.
Try to have one major focal point and then secondary ones.
If you have lots of values and detail competing for focus it can confuse the viewer.

doesn't joust mean"join". I'd be curious as to what is joined, the horse/rider or the combatants? Could a naval battle between to similar warships be considered a joust? Nothing in the etymology seems to indicate either way. Only that at the time of usage, they used horses as conveyance. So, I replace horse with large flying warships.

joust is a battle or competition between two combatants. in thesi case the joust is defined as a aerial battle.

I had a few ideas throughout the week, but in the end I threw something together this morning out of development work. A bit random but also a bit different for me..
This seemed like a more difficult topic to tackle, some great images tho, well done all!
-- I took a few liberties with my white silhouette, kudos to Piecemaker
