    Digital Painting Pains

I have a hard time painting digitally in comparison to painting traditionally, (which is only a little less hard for me) but i am determined to learn. While the main purpose of this post is to humbly ask for critiques, I also noticed the digital painting thread in the Photoshop section and thought it would be a good idea if one were posted here (for the PAINTER users) where everyone could participe. I would be thankful for any critique or still lifes of thier own that anyone would like to provide!!! Here's my...uh 'still life'.

I think that looks rather good, actually. The bottom of the apple seems more 'flat' compared to the upper, fatter part of the apple..

I have yet to try still-life with painter..! I shall perhaps give it a go since this thread is put up..!

I agree completely, that is a fine apple with the small exception of the base which looks a little of. if your looking for a more refined "photo" like apple then all you need to do is keep refining it with more detail.

I also thing I may have to try my hand at a still life.

hellomyradio: yeah i realized the bottom of the apple was flat but i couldn't seem to sculpt out a 3-d shape down there... and please if you have painter i would love to see your efforts posted here!!!

soggy: right now i would like to see how much detail i can catch from what i'm painting, to make the colors and shapes as correct as i can make it. if my skills improve than i'll decide when to stop before it becomes too photo realistic. (not that i'm capable of making an image of such detail now but maybe waaaaay in the future! )

it would be great if any of you would like to post something of your own! This is a WIP of something i'm doing now, i didn't want to post without showing some work. If you can tell what it is at this stage then i'm doing something right.
