i think this is a brilliant sketchbook you have, lots of wonderful paintings and life sketches. my one big question is when you first started to lock down and teach yourself how did you start developing i.e. did you - do life drawing or something like digital painting 24/7 i dno some sort of a clue would be nice as i am starting to teach myself. Thanks

Man that's a great digital for just values, awesome achievement, I don't know if I could do that ha ha. Keep at man your push'en through some sweet sketchbook work. And more robots, I love 'em! I had a crack at mechanical studies, pretty tedious, fun though. I shall return.

This account is dead but my sketchbook holds in it my humble beginnings

Its great to see you taking feedback and putting it to practice! its something that shows an eagerness and makes me want to help as well

As you do the value studies, I think you can ponder a bit more on what type of surface you are working with - most notably metals or something more wet. The robots you've posted would be neat with some stronger hints of reflectivity on the metal - you have displayed this nicely, however, on the previous girls belt buckle. Of course not ALL metal will be polished (painted etc.)...but having some different surfaces and materials is great for studying and often simply looks good! great progress

que tal Diego? i like the last updates, keep sharing.

    Hello Diego,

Thank you for stopping into my SB and leaving a a comment.

You have some really great stuff going on in this SB. Man! I love your shapes and the way you are conveying masses. This last page alone is just stuffed to the gills with fantastic stuff. I like the lines of your mechs and suits. I will have to keep checking back in here

Hey diego, the last update are rocking. Your understanding of value is greatly improving with the last ones. A small thing in your faces that is not that much of a problem but would be nice to take in mind, is that in some of them the alignment of the features is slightly off, like one eye a bit above the other. It is barely noticeable anyways so it is not so much of a big issue. Other than that, keep up the great work!

sweet sketchbook, the pencils are really nice. I would keep working on your gesture ( a lot of your figures look stiff) my favorite is the nomad with the sheep. keep up the good work.

Great work, but there's something androgynous or understated about the way you render the human figure that's hard to get used to. Your males and females just look kind of neutral compared to the artistic representations I'm familiar with.

    Great studies.

The colors on the current piece may seem strange because the contrast in the values is too much. Perhaps lightening the darkest areas and introducing some secondary lighting, while including some limited but bright highlights - that might make it look more skin-like.

That skull on the knee is pretty badass btw.

Yes, totally agree, a friend told me the same, i've played with contrast but i think is not enough...I added some accents as you said...just a lil' bit. thanks for the suggestion, its the first time i do a painting like this, usually i get frustated really fast... Thanks for the help. i'll continue working on this.

    Another wip.
