    Soft_Hands' Sketchbook

Hey, I've been lurking around these forums for a few months and finally built enough courage to post my stuff. So here goes.

First off some rough sketches of a knight and a female knight...

your off to a good start. however i would like to see more stuff from you so i could give better feedback. but from these i can suggest you work a bit more on anatomy and also try to use more long and flowing lines for your lineart. you can cover bigger areas with them and if you use them along w/ weighted line it will give your lineart a lot more clarity and contrast. it also makes your drawings look cleaner because they don't have the messy really sketchy feel to them. keep posting. and keep it up.

    Welcome out of lurkage!
I love the postures of these figures, there is a lot of energy in them. I especially like the curve out of the leg in the lower left figure though I wish her shoulders were set back further to continue that line and enhance the power of the stance... maybe less forward in the hip area so it wouldn't be unnatural for her shoulders to drop back farther. I also like the leaping attack posture, would be neat to see that idea/pose further fleshed out.
    Looking forward to more!

    lol
Thats like, what, one part of the assignment done right there..
    now the crit.
Hmm... I would say focus on line quality and whatnot.. like that second post you made, that and maybe try to make the shapes look 3 dimensional instead of 2d.. if that makes sense..
    thats my 2cents

There's a lot of nice movement in your sketches. I especially like that one of the girl from the back. It's very sassy.

Let's see some more! You started doing some different line weights in those last gestures, which is great.

Damn right, man. I love blue pencil.

Also, the "BLARGH SIT ON MY FACE" one made me laugh for like 5 minutes straight. I have no idea why.

Geez, haven't updated this thing in forever... Well here's where I'm at, practicing with a tablet. I take a look at it now and see that her left arm needs work.
    Crits greatfully appreciated.

Your loose style is great and it seems like you make much better usage of line thickness with the tablet. I bet you'll become great at drawing very dynamic poses

In your most recent pose, her left shoulder and arm problems stand out the most. I think she looks a bit more muscular than you might have intended due to sharp angles. Her right arm seems to thick, and if you unfurled her right fingers, her hand would be larger than her head. You got the sheets just right, it really looks like she's grabbing that off the floor.
