thanx to jhagen22 for the topic idea

    ADDITIONAL INFO

    1. The hyperactive part must be visible in the image itself or at least in the concept. Write down WHY the creature is hyperactive. Entries without a relation to the word "hyperactive" will be rejected!

    2. No individual/character!!! Make a concept of a species!

This topic make me happier (or perhaps more hyperactive) than a snake in a sugar cane field!

There's a hole... there's a hole... there's a hole in the bottom of the sea.

Sweet! I was going to try to get back into the cow and lo and behold it's one of my suggestions. Heh, cool. I suppose I better start with this topic.

...now I have to come up with an idea.....hmmmm....

    I'm in.
    Been inactive for a while.
I only ever posted for one COW and it was a WIP.

Either way, here's my idea. I'm going to be creating a creature whose hyperactivity is based off of feeding on this plant:

Guarana (or Paullinia cupana) is a climbing plant in the Sapindaceae family, native to the Amazon basin and especially common in Brazil. While guarana features large leaves and clusters of flowers, it is best known for its fruit, which is about the size of a coffee berry. Each fruit contains about one seed, which contains approximately three times as much caffeine as coffee beans.

Hope to have a WIP up soon.
BTW, anyone feel like teaching me the basics of computer based image colouring?? I'm completely lost and don't normally get past the pencil and paper stage.

Can the cretures have robotic features (implants or other technological improvements) ?

    Edit: For placeholder

Foaming at the mouth was the first image I got for some reason.

    C.O.W. - #110: Hyperactive

    1) I started to draw some kind of exotic bird.
    2) I made it small and round and spinning around a tree branch. I thought it looked similar to a monkey.
    3) I made a small and round monkey flailing arms.
    4) Generic vineswinging monkey.
    5) Screaming Ape. Probably will become the general idea for my creature.

Any constructive Criticism is welcome and requested!

What a nutty topic. All I see in my head is some sort of gaunt vibrating ape with a crazed look on his face and veins pulsing from his temples and muscles.

Here's the first ideas I have so far...

The first page shows my 2 creature ideas.
The first one is kind of a crazy small furry bundle of energy. He jumps up and spooks animals, people, etc. into dropping any shiny bobbles that they may be carrying (second page sketch shows him spooking a raven). He then collects them and uses them in his next to attract his mate with a manic dance.

The second creature idea is a multi-tailed rattle snake. He basically whips and shakes them around 24/7 screaming "Get the $%&! away from me!!!" in his own little way.

Comments and critiques welcome as I am torn between these 2 guys.

jhagen, your first one looks like the honeycomb character. actually, that's the first thing that came to mind when I read the topic, too.

panda - Now that you mention it, he does have that honey comb character look to him. Not sure if I want my character to have such a pop culture feel to him. Maybe I'll think it over some more and come up with something new.

I got the same idea like nearly everybody
Maybe I change its genotype, but the phenotype stays similiar in most ways...

FOZ: Is it OK,to create an ape, which is not acutally an ape, but behaves like it and has kind of similar body?

Ok here`s my line art sketch of the concept i have for `Hyperactive`

I think I have a cool little story for this guy too.
Of course if anyone wants to lend a hand and crit, I`d love it.

Good luck to everyone, I hope this gets some creative juices flowing for others.

I dont really understand the creture It seems it has some sort of "volcano" on its back and its heading towards a vortex Maybe if you would explain the concept a lil' i could lend an idea. I'll get back at you if an idea pops. pld:

OK, I`m kinda amazed you got that from the sketch, but then again we are at C.A. I should have known someone like yourself would see where I was going.
I hope this is allowed too :?
He is in every sense Hyperactive, he moves so quickly that he travels through hyperspace, living between dimensions. He feeds on the tiniest Quarks, which (whilst digesting cause a hugely powerful reaction within his body) is his fuel. The only time we ever come into contact with him is when he ages,(thats a long time by the way) when Hyperbug slows down he must enter our dimension, before travelling on again. This causes a massive release of energy. Ever heard of spontaneous human combustion???
You guessed it, this guy (the Hyperbug species) is to blame!!
    Any ideas poppin eden?

Psy After what you said i immediatley thought at the Starship Trooper bugs, im thinking that reactor thingie should be located at the creatures rear end and that you need some sort of shield, to withstand the friction caused by the high speed. Also the masive energy burst should accor when the creature starts moving, the legs must be protected or removed, otherwise i think they'll be ripped off at high speeds. To keep it simple, i think you should do a more aerodynamic body (something like a Colibri Hummingbird, thats a hyperactive mofo) I'll try and get back at you with something more creative.
An aditional panel with it opening the gate to another dimention would be fine.
Actualy aditional panels would be excelent, depicting it gaining speed after a meal of "quarks", gating to another dimension and finaly stoping in a burst of flames and burning a poor unaware humanoid.

    HAHAhaha

I actually DID just laughout loud.
The legs I`m gonna keep (I think) coz he spears the Quarks with them(in theory
The reason I did it like that is because he`s PERMANENTLY in perpetual motion. He jut slows down a little after a couple of Eons.
Nice ideas Eden, thank you very much, let me ponder a little and get back to you.
I mightn`t have time to get all of the rendering done with the colour scheme I want to use.
(I naturally love the idea of getting in the humanoid)

    Thanks again.
