    Jake's quasi-sketchbook

Hello. I've wanted to start one of these for a while but I can't work as fast as you guys yet, so most of these can't really be called sketches.

I really like the look and style of the speedpaintings here and on sijun, so hopefully I can figure it out soon. Anyway, here's some stuff... crits would be appreciated.

Interesting style U got here! Colours are very nice and create good atmosphere. Keep it up! and Welcome!

Only possible crit would be its hard to make out details on some pieces but that seems to be the style U are going for? Still nice though

    hi!
    interesting, interesting
nice style. ITs hard to make up the details, but thats whats keeping people looking! i like not too easy art but still i think you can work out details a little bit more. Am i correct when i accuse you from placing a lot of random lines? at some places it doesnt seem logical what you do.

But still, veeery nice, make more u also got other stuff besides environments?

Kidult - thanks, and I agree on your crit.

Ajvenema - yeah, my line placement is definitely too random, although I think that a bit of randomness has its place to an extent. I'll have to work on that.

Heya Jake! I think some of these could use some simplicity of values, right now I'm lost in all the detail and I think the overall compositions suffer from this. I really like the use of perspective in these, though!
Keep it up, I'd like to see some experimentations in different areas later on as you move forward. cheers!

So I wanted to attempt some vehicle designs, and it seems like all the cool kids learn this stuff with markers and pens, so I picked some up yesterday.

I made a bunch of mistakes and some of these look warped, but it was my first real try unless you count a few scribbles. Just some flat side views atm, I'll
    do some in perspective later.

Anyway I need to know what kind of pen I should be using because mine doesn't feel right. Crits would be very helpful too. Also here's something I did with gouache a month ago.

Impressive landscapes you got there, and nice improvement in just half a year! I really love all of those in post #19 and those latest aren't any less awesome. Although the brownish ones are a bit too rich in detail which kills some defining silouhettes. That portrait is also very awesome! Very nice colors there
