Thanks for the tip on the embers, what shape brush do you tend to paint with the most, or does it depend on what your trying to achieve? (let the bombardment begin)

I use the general chalk shape brush under the "natural brushes" selection standard in photoshop cs1. And then i have my opacity at 100 percent and my flow at 100 percent. With both set to pen pressure. And thats pretty much all she wrote.

Very awesome updates since my last visit here!
If I may give a tiny little crit, then it would be to try to define the shape of the triceps and biceps and not just putting random strokes on it..
But ignore this, your stuff makes me hot!
    Kind regards,

Thanks everyone....except you Chup...BASTARD... ITS PERFECT AS IS!!! lol, just kidding. I hear you, i started to actually define the arm, and it just looked a little off, i think its because he's an obese person, and they actually dont have any definetion pretty much anywhere, its a lot of little clumps of sellulite and a lot of fat...if i am spelling that correctly. But I made the same judgement, so im sure not going to knock you for it lol.

here is an update on the turnaround.

Some of your work is really great towards the eye.
Like looking at your steps as it might give me ideas and perhaps teach me something. Keep them coming!

In the step between greyscale and color, what do you do there to add the color.

    haha, good old Chup.

I create a new layer and set it to color, then put usually a pretty desaturated wash over it by just filling it in with a chosen color for the mood. Then i just take my normal brush and glaze in some areas of different colors that i want, and then merge that rightaway and paint on top of that with opaque paint. Its the exact same process as traditional underpainting, without the having to wait a day for your oils to dry.

    Look out, chick update.

    looking good cole,
one thing about the legs though, you probably already saw this but i'll say it anyway:
Right leg (bent) appears a little lower then natural compared to the hip location. Left leg tends to be a little short or slightly skewed compared to the perspective. I dunno, but somethings bugging me... what do you think?

Yeah, im with you on that coin. I actually am not feeling just the overall character and pose, i was thinking mage for this and this is more of warrior, as much as i like the action, i want to actually show the armor and concept, so after doing a lot of paintovers, im just going to start a new one with a little more of a design to it.
