Wow that's a lot of sketches! It makes me feel bad for not doing a lot of observational sketches these last weeks, but on the other hand I have been focusing on other areas. The only crit I have is that I miss more environments, since that is one of your weaker areas. When is school starting for you by the way?

Hey dude, thanks for the comment! Yeah, you're right, I've been neglecting the environments again. Drawing people and humanoid statues speaks to me more, but it's getting out of hand.

And how you've been doing? School's starting tuesday!

Yeah I have to force myself not to draw people only too but you know what still life is somewhat easier to draw because it doesn't move.

    Klaus concept

Hey there, here is a sketch I made a couple of days ago for a secret project. It's suppose to be this crazy old librarian, still a WIP.

    Vette $#it heb je hier.
You got a great sketchbook full of beautiful faces, and the few parts of environment are great. Reminds me of (French) comics.

Here are some doodles again. School started again so time is precious. Gotta do some more serious work, starting to slip into a routine.

NICE sketches man! Really loving soem of those inks and lines and all. I have only one crit on Klaus, and that is that his shoes looks like sneekers or something, so you might wanna take a look at that. I am thinking some old brown leather shoes or something

Anyways, good stuff here, so keep at it

    Project Pittoresque!

He there, not really a sketch or anything, just a "fake" book cover I made for the aforementioned project, namely Project Pittoresque! (where I got a GO for).

With this project I primarily designed the interfaces, but also some characters which unfortunately didn't make the cut. You can check them out in the Leftovers section in the "art of" PDF.

Here you can check the "art of" PDF which contains all of the (finished) art. Enjoy!

I went to Atelier Stok today, an open workshop where we had a lovely model. Mainly used charcoal and indian ink pens. Enjoy!

    Hey man, nice stuff!

It's looking good. Your observational figure work is coming along, but not quite as nice as some of your sketch work IMO.

Thanks Sublimus! Yeah, it's still quite hard to pull off a nice sketch while you only have like 2 minutes. And charcoal is a bitch... But hey, it's a great workout. And just looked at your website, you got some nice stuff!

    Some more studies!

Here are some more studies of the workshop. Had a bit of a depression lately due to school, but finally I feel better again.

    Thumbs up

    Hey man,

Thanks for visiting the ol' SB.

Got some nice stuff going on in here with a strong variety of subject matter. Digging these doodles especially. Good rhythm and energy.

That "Klaus" is on point too.

Regarding this image; be careful with that pen tool (or any vector art). Things like that can really knock the vitality out of a drawing (equi-thick lines that don't taper). You might try incorporating another thickness of stroke to add some diversity (example: a thicker stroke for the character outline and larger forms, thinner for details.). But, either way, it takes a lot of practice to translate a sketch into something that clean and maintain the energy.

    Keep it up!

Wow thanks! Coming from you is quite the honour! You're right, using the pen tool in Photoshop can kill a sketch, gotta be careful with that.

here is a little thing I can't really tell but I will anyway: http://solarnovabonanza.blogspot.com>> all the character designs are mine! It's a big project, so don't tell anyone

    Workshop session 8

A new year, a new chance to observe in the workshop. Lovely model, but I had to adjust a little bit again. Was already some weeks without the proper practice
