Hey there. Thanks for checking out my sketchbook. Wow, you've got some great stuff going here O: Especially your anatomy studies!
Thanks so much for the boot up the ass you've given me - I'm feeling slightly ashamed of how little effort I've been putting in lately XD

Good luck and keep up the awesome work!

Good job on the studies! Your doing some good work.
I'd be interested to see how some of your original characters would look after a bit of research/reference was put into them after the initial stages, like on your chows (I know they have a very limited time on them) taking them to the final compositions and then getting reference for the pose, materials, drapery, etc.
because you're able to get them looking pretty good just from your imagination, so even if you continue them after the deadline I think a bit of specific reference, you would really be able to take your stuff to another level!
    keep it up!

Just Call Me Bruce! - thanks but I did that before and the ref became a crutch. Now I will do studies of the stuff Im working. That way I learn and apply, other peeps do it with no ref so I just need to keep doing my 6 hours and it will come. I'd rather my skill push me to the next level than a photo

Man, every thread I go to I end up feeling lazy. You've got pretty awesome stuff here. But I think you should try to loosen up. Some of your characters are kinda stiff. Using lines of action and identifying shapes in the muscles and body really help, at least it did for me. Keep it up, your doing really great.

hey man, the drawings and hogarth studies are looking good. looks like you have a nice design sense when it comes to characters. my only crit is that the poses are looking kinda stiff. try laying down the gesture and action lines before committing. try taking a life drawing class too, if you can. quick poses and gesture drawing should help you loosen up. anyway, keep up the good work

Dude...good work, man. I like your character designs with their obnoxiously huge weapons. Always good fun. Reminds me of dynasty warriors. The only thing that stood out to me is that you didn't really shade in your character designs but it looks like you're starting to do that. Keep it up, man, you're on the right track.

Hey Kidult, this is a superb sketchbook! I'm truly envious of your line work, it's fantastic. I really like how this guy came out. Also I'm really liking your Hogarth studies.

    keep it up.

Always looking for feedback, so feel free to stop by any of these, cheers.

Great colors and values on that SP! Many of your figures seem to be standing on their toes in an awkward way. Try giving them cast shadows and studying how feet attach to the ground to give them more feel of weight. For the stiff poses some quick gesture drawings would probably be the best cure, life drawing would be great of course but I think posemaniacs.com is a pretty good substitute for that. On some of your figures there's also slight over rendering of muscles, so that your shadings are the outlines of muscles rather than shadings of the big forms, so watch out for that. Hogarth shaded the individual muscles with such emphasis that it's easy to learn that habit from his drawings, some shaded photo studies could balance it out. Keep up the good work!
