    Confection #1 - Evolution`s Misfits. ~open to all~

    Confection #1 - Evolution`s Misfits. ~open to all~

    Hello boys and girls.

This here challenge is a nice and fun designing exercise I had the pleasure of running for quite a while now at another CG forum.

The rules are simple enough, and the possibilities are Endless (well, no. not really, but the possibilities are quite vast...)

    in a nutshell -
We give you 2 animals - you combine them into 1. you got about a week.
sounds easy, right? well, yeah. if you go the tomato route.
but keeping it unique and somewhat fresh is harder than one might think.

anyone who feel like giving it a go - is more than welcomed.
come the deadline - a public poll will determine our winner.

    deadline : Feb 21th, Thursday.

that`s it basically. if the response is good, we`ll do another one.

    good luck ppl,
    and cheers.

sounds similer to a job i had myself a few years ago, which was very fun. If i get time early next week i'll try and join in, though it may only be a quick b&w sketch if thats ok. Makes you wonder though, if these 2 animals did happen to find a way to breed, how big would the young be, could turn out to be an extremly large hairy toad with antlers, that should keep the french happy

    Cow

I used to love drawing half/ half animals back in middle school. It would be really great to do this again. I'll have to see if I can squeeze some time in to do this challenge!

    Toadeer

Alright, here's my take on the Toadeer. For some reason I kept getting weird flashbacks of growing up in rural Tennessee.

    ho very cool guys.
Tony - excellent work. I really like the textures and bumps on that beast.

joey - it seems like an interesting creature, I just can`t see much of it.
maybe it`s the light and shade, or maybe it`s the size of the image. dunno.

hope to see more entries `till deadline.

thanks guys! Joey - Yeah the legs do look awkward. I was going for a massive body on spindle like legs, so you get the new born calf wobble. I figured in a swampy environment it would use the legs to move around deeper water but rarely use them to hold up all its weight. You're right though... I think the placement of the far back leg could have been better. Maybe picked up out of the water in motion. Thanks for the comments guys!

    Joey-b - nicccceeee.... I like it better.

Bastardcries - hey man, welcome. looking very nice. the lighting doesn`t really work well all the way through the piece, but that`s fixable. keep at it!
