I think if you lose the anime facial features and and paint the figure instead of trying to draw it, the end result will be a lot stronger.

    Wow, this is really lovely.

But...(you knew this was coming, right?) there are a few issues with tackling such challenging lighting (I do myself all the time...I'm a sucker for tricky lighting. Gets me every time.)

So where the light is hitting her hair -- some shine would be good. That goes for the gun too (metal, after all.) Conversely, given how she's holding the gun, where the light is hitting that gun would cast a shadow over most of her chest.

Where you are really losing me is from the waist down. There's something awkward about the bend of her hips sitting that is making her ass look disproportionately large. The legs themselves work together, and the torso and head works together, but combine them and it's off. Her lower torso just seems really really long, you know? Maybe it's just me...

The light on her legs is also a little odd. You've done a terrific job of showing us exactly what causes each little bar of light hitting her at the top, but the further we go down, the less clear this becomes, until I'm really now sure why she has that bar of light across her calves.

It really shows that you've put a ton of work into this, and I think it's a very good sign that you're still not happy. It's potentially a very strong piece of work indeed.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I have some gripes about the eyes xD I don't think they seem lined up, or that the right one is too high up in the face xD But meh, it's anime, I don't do a lot of stuff with that xD

The small holes emitting light are too strong I think. I haven't studied light enough to know for sure, and do they stray away too? The major light beams shine in a parallel direction, but the ones from the hole do not.

Otherwise, nice picture The bayonet on the gun is a sweet addition xD

I really enjoy this image, I think the composition of it is excellent.
But I do agree with swan , the lower torso seems a bit to long to me too. And I would actually like to see a little more detail in the boots...they seem monochrome, if that makes sense. Maybe add some more contrast/shadows.

    Anyway, great job!
