looking a lot better, i really like the bleeding rose, and your latest portraits are also really good. especially the "i am dr. doom" one. on your character designs some of the anatomy and the perspective looks off, the guy w/ 2 guns his hands are abnormally huge, even if the hands were like right in your face they still wouldn't appear that big, it looks a little like hes wearing those hulk hands toys. but your definitely improving from your earlier stuff, keep studying and keep at it.

Thanks for coming by my book!

Your work has INCREDIBLE imagination to it. Really loving the ideas behind your drawings.

I think you could do to try and darken your shadows (the deepest shadows, at least) a bit more. Get more contrast into your drawings. Also, don't have a dark outline around everything so much, focus on letting your shadows and shapes define form rather than contour lines.

    Really cool concepts!

Thanks for the tip, i will work on making things darker that are off into the distance. or rather i have to work on giving things a better depth definition.

what kind of paint you using? to me it looks like cheap paint- the paint you use will greatly influence the quality you your work.
also if you have never painted b4 you should limit yourself to black and white to start with. color is very complicated and will distract you.
those surreal drawings are cool, did you use ref?

nice stuff. i really like the mad pencil in the last one. its like a character i've been developing for a few years, that my nethandle comes from. that eye on the doodle page is well done as well. the sp is crazy. i like how its all zombiefied. all i can say is for the sp i would push the values a bit more because it still looks kinda flat. keep it up.

There is a lot to talk about so lets get some coffee shall we?

On whole I think your on a nice start. Your second piece is your strongest illustration. You convey your message and have us emote with it very well. The main problem with all the pieces is line depth. Ally our line work is very thin and light. This is flattening your images and not conveying a sense of space. I assume you are inking these with a Micron pen or something similar? I am not much of an inker so I cannot give any advice in that department.

I like the feeling of your last piece as well. You have a lot of nice qualities going on with the storytelling and the use of value contrast to define your subject. Alas I think a lot of the elements seem generic and rigid.

One thing that I can suggest is photo reference. We all hear that line, even myself at times, but reference does help immensely when trying to fill in the blanks. This goes for anything (figures, environments, items, etc...).

On whole the work is nice. I think your on the right track just have to practice, practice, practice. Start a sketch book and just draw your butt off. Thats the only way any of us can get better. Good work, and welcome again. Hit me up if you ever need something.

    ~cheers!
a sense of proportion, thanks ill keep that in mind next time. Each comment gives me the ability to do better and to learn to be better.

I may recommend using a ruler for those straight edges to keep things nice and tight. Your figure is not too bad at all. The proportions make sense. Since its stylized I will not give a critique for a realistic image, but I would suggest for the future watching your hands and feet. Ideally hands are about the size of ones face. Yours are looking a bit small in the image, and since their a very important part of the storytelling you really don't want them to get lost. Your feet are also okay stylistically. However, his right foot seems devoid of a heel, and his left seems to be too short. It couldn't hurt to do some foot studies so you can get an idea of how the shapes of the ankle, heel, and foot all relate (the same goes for hands too ). Doing so will push your art to a new level and you won;t have to hide behind generic shapes.

All and all good work. I just wish your line quality was tighter and more varied.

When painting do you paint the darkest color first then touch up with lighting?

i like these last ones a lot especially the last one, good mood set for it, i also like the very minimalistic coloring you did for all of them it fits in nicely w/ the mood and composition set for each on

In terms of linework watch your weight. Make sure there's a clear contrast between dark/hard and light. At the moment you have two values at the most. Contrast is key to good linework (other than purposeful and confident lines) and rendering imo.

Good stuff. Im a big supporter of the surrealism-gore myself.
