Hey man, I'm new here too, but it was suggested to me to move away from armor etc and focus solely on anatomy until you can build a human body on which to place the armor Keep up the sketches!

Welcome to CA... I'm new here myself. It's a bit daunting posting stuff here with all of the great talent, but congratulations on taking the first big step towards becoming a better artist.

In my lurkings here, I've heard a lot of what Exquisite_Beast said... learn to draw the figure first.

I've been studying figure drawing from books by Andrew Loomis. You can find them on the net... here's one link I found http://www.alexhays.com/loomis/

    Hopefully it helps you out!

Please take a look at my sketchbook

I'm just a beginner, but I'm trying desperately to get better.

Oh, and I forgot to mention... you could swing by the Classroom for All in the Mentoring thread. Basically there are regular assignments, you can do if you want and get feedback.

They've said it's open to all skill levels, which is good, because I'm by far the worst artist participating

I decided to return the comment. It's great that you're starting a sketchbook. It's a commitment that you should not take lightly. Post plenty, and post often. Draw lots. The hatching tells me that you actually understand drawing, and that's a good start. Keep working.
TimV's suggestion for joining a mentor group is a great idea. I'm going to do that too, but I've been putting it off.
    Keep drawing!

woo thanks guys, for the comment.
Exquiste Beast Yeah , i do need to do more work on human anatomy , and today I have done.

Timv Defintly heading over to the classroom for all too, 'tis much less duanting over there.

Sketcheth Yessir, Maybe one day I'll be able to draw the chicks like you.

    And now, my amazing artwork,

Yeahhh , We'll just say this was a doodle.

and I copied some arms from Giovanni civardi's drawing human anatomy, which is awesome, and you should get if you don't have.
Sorry again about the small amount, but they're fresh off my pencil today.

my sketchbook is a work of art.

Ogg, Sorry about the lack of hard work going on here, but everyone here can appreciate what it feels like to create on deadlines. Anyway, one sketch, that i feel happy about becuase i finally got the look i wanted on his face, the arms and pretty much everything are lame.

Hey thanks for stopping by man! I like your stuff. I find investing in a thick book of anatomy is well worth it. Bridgeman's Body is my friend! Keep drawing fella, I'll stop by often to encourage you!

like the copy, i think you have an eye. as for advice...
start drawing from references, everything at different angles. i see a general lack in definition in your drawings. keep it up and by the time you 20, you'll never have to worry about a job. unless the apocalypse comes in 2012, like i saw in a magazine. never mind. stop practicing your drawings and start storing food.

Wow Amazed, some really nice studies! Keep them up and they "pay big dividends!" Additionally, I like the goblin dude, he has a great sense of balance.

I think I had that book at your age, great one, that, and some nice studies from it. If you don't hate it too much, you should try some life studies, just sketches of random people. I used to bring a sketchbook to school with me everyday. I maybe didn't sketch people much, but always having it, meant that people always wanted to look at it, and would pat me on the back. It's good encouragement to draw daily. Other than that, just keep em coming!

Like yourself, I'm quite new to the site as well.
I always hear, "Do human anatomy" and it's paying off.

Nice stuff, I see you're taking in what people have suggested
and doing alot of human anatomy. Like every artist should, just keep at it!!

woah, man these vacations eat up time.

so, after scanning and posting all this stuff, I can't help but think
how the scanner did not improve the quality here, so will you
believe me if I say they look better in real life. also
does anyone know why some are on there side? I think it's because of
    the size, am I right?

I have to keep on reminfing myself to be more patient and thoughful, arrgh.

I can see a dramatic amount of improvement. You are on the right track just keep doing what you're doing and you will continue to improve. I wish I was smart enough to find this site and work on improving my art back when I was only 14. Since you are getting such an early jump on these things, by the time you get older your art will be amazing. Keep up the good work, i look forward to seeing new things.
