Thanks for posting the Mall paints
Potted Plein Air is just beautiful, so much going on in the reflected lights under the lip of the pot - you took all the good weather with you!

That quote is fantastic, I should really read more of his accounts than the canonical guys. Delicious flowers, but the previous two are great. Brookwood demands a revisit!

Yes, this is the kind of awesome sketchbook I like. I'll watch it, that's certain.

I would try to fill the canvas in your plein air paintings however. I don't think they work that well when you leave empty space on sides - unless those are just studies to you.

    cheers

    tehmeh- updaaaate!!!!11

Koto- nope, the printout in my studio is a rushed bad scan of the portrait study

    luigi- thanks!

merl1n- thank you for the observation, yeah, theyre still studies at this stage... im resolving nowadays to aim and cover the surface before starting on the rendering

    ---

Sorry for the long time of no updates... been busy with coursework at campus, work mostly atm, anyways, here's a quick recent-ish update on what I've been doing over the winter break.

    1. Painting setup in the jungle (PLEIN AIR EVERYWHERE) (Guile's theme song does wonders when painting )

    2. ....my painting location the next day. Had really bad weather over the winter break with continuous rain, and the painting location from the previous day was totally washed away.

    3. Log study

So I think all you've got left to paint in is a desert?
From what i can see lookin good, one crit is that the log looks a tad undersaturated (could do with some accents perhaps...) but you know the deal with photos.
However that photo of the overgrown building you showed me was just epic. You have to paint that.

Hey Aberzheim just want to say how much I've enjoyed looking through all your sketchbook. You've got some great drawings and paintings, I hope you haven't been washed away trying to paint in the jungle!

Excellent paintings and i like the "in the moment" photographs being out in the field!
pretty excellent rendering are you using oil paints because if it acrylics its freaken wild!
    ... (mumbles) i couldnt do that with acrylics . . . . .

Hey Aberzheim so glad you weren't washed away. The paintings look really good and it's great to see the locations you are getting to. I am a way off from getting out and painting myself yet, but seeing your posts really urges me on to get to that stage.

AdrianNagorski- thanks, these studies were done in oils, not acrylics

Marian Rowling- thank you, one of the best things with painting outdoors is the fun locations you get to go to, not to mention its pretty convenient combining hiking+painting!

tehmeh- well thank you. It was my late entry to the Hayward Gallery's 'Invisible Art' show. They didn't approve cause it was too representational, the snow was too real.

'Well, Mr. Saatchi, I am waiting for my paycheck from the snow painting.'
