As this is my first post here, I'll start by saying hello. I am very newly started in doing this kind of graphics art (Something like 2 weeks since my first thing made in GIMP), but have been doing pixelart for about a year. So, I am trying to make an inmage of some mountains, and have decided to post it here. I nearly got scared away from posting it by looking at the other threads, as they all were ten times better than my own. But, here it is nonetheless:
I'm not sure if I like the shading technique I'm using on the mountain, I guess I'm going for something a little more realistic, that would also indicate the roughness of the mountain a little more. So the shading there is technically just a placeholder..
No critic? I doubt that this is perfect
1: get a pencil you feel comfortable using.
2: get a piece of paper, prefereably blank, or with enough room for your drawing.
3: since i'm not sure exactly if you have access to windows or anything remotely outdoors, do a google image search for 'mountain'
4: find an image which appeals to you.
5: draw the picture referencing the image.
Sounds like a nice idea So you are suggesting that I make a few mountains on paper, and then use those as reference for these, to draw some completely new ones? As I have no mountains in my country at all, I'll search google.

Basically, you need to learn how to draw what you are trying to make...drawing from reference will teach you that and get you to observe it. I would say do pencil work for now as suggested before you dive into digital things
Okay. I'll draw a bunch of pencil mountains, and then come back again. Thanks for your help, both of you
