nice work, I can definitely see a progress. I also like the third from last in the first post (and the green one). You're capturing a pretty good likeness

    Keep up the good work.
I know how scant things are around campus, but if you could get some more mirrors, somehow, you could set up some really weird angles.
It's pretty clear that you're exploring techniques, so for example, I'm seeing some with low-opacity layers built up for shadows, and some with blending.. maybe you could combine those approaches somewhat and really go for a picture with both hard and soft edges? Despite what Norman says, I think edges are meaningful to a picture since they communicate light. You could take a picture like the last one posted, which has a nice atmospheric softness, and hone some areas to be fairly sharp, such as the nostril, parts of the line between the lips and whatever else seems to be bold -just as an experiment.

nice self-ports man. I didn't realized you were on here. Anyways if you keep doing that, altering your facial expressions and lighting conditions your gonna be one sick artist before your even a sophmore!!!

alright so this last one is totally tight!
maybe you should join me and do the overlays instead
actually my personal favorite is the one where you used Schierenberg's colors, mainly because of the gesture. That is a sweet style i don't see enough of.

Lovin' these portraits man. I say you experiment with different brushes. Try using hard, sharp brushes at 100% opacity. It'll teach you to rely less and less on diluting the color. This is a great habit to get into though. Keep Posting!

Ken you really nailed this last one with the secondary light. Made into a very interesting image.

My one crit, climb into a new box with some custom brushes and get some texture in there. Are you taking a look at Android's self portraits?

Hey kenny is that last one digital or oil? Alex mentioned you had a pretty good traditonal one you've been working on and I was wondering if that's it?

Either way it's sick. Very impressionistic

I'm digging the latest batch of self-portraits.
I haven't done one in a while, so maybe I'll do one too.

Good stuff. Very good likeness for the first and the last one. (the other ones are good too, just not as good)
Good stuff overall, no particular critiques.
    Stop drawing yourself you egomaniac.
