    Dead of the Day

I am going to try and start a daily sketchbook, with a theme of the undead. my goal is to see where this takes me two or three weeks down the road. I expect the first dozen or so to be pretty generic. C&C is welcome and encouraged.

awesome, big fan of your work Erik. how do you go about rendering these? Seems like you smudge, and erase highlights?

Skeiff- Thats pretty much how I do it, beyond that I use a 2h, hb, 2b, 4b pencil on smooth bristol board. I start with the 2h and when I am happy with what I have I move on to the softer pencils

Haha, too cool. I am very enthusiastic regarding this sketchbook.

On a totally stylistic note, I always think that drawing a zombie's eye minus the iris/pupil adds significantly to the creepiness factor.

    5*!

Haha, I like these so far. They'll make a fine collection once there's a nice number of them. I like the awkward poses you've managed to set them in. Nice foreshortening skills too!

    Awesome

Do you remember what I said about people "pulling punches" when they design/illustrate zombies, and how it's fantastic that you don't do that?

You just took it to a whole new level with that last one.
    Awesome sketch, gent.

Thanks for, once again, making me terrified of the pregnant.
