Thanks for dropping by my SB! Lots of cool ideas going on here!

About the enviro: perspective lines, dude example: the scaffolding (sp?) in the foreground conforms to a different perspective than the ship...

also some nice sharp edges (I typically use a round hard, size to pressure for that kinda thing) might seperate the elements better. You can also mask or use the pen tool for an edge and paint inside the selection, if you wanna be meticulous about it... hehe... Hope it helps a bit I'm far from an expert when it comes to enviros! Still learning myself... hehe..

    Keep 'em coming!

Your sketch batches are lots of fun! I'm surprised at how squiggly they are though. Going back through your SB, it appears your traditional work feels smoother and more steady than your digital. This effect decreases the bigger digital brush is that you use to sketch with.

My sketchbook contains cartoon studies and Pokémon.

Walnut: Thanks for the visit, your sketchbook was way too cool
KiyoKarma:Well well well, thanks i quess
Dcept: Damn you are right about that! other thing is true, my enviroes are way too messy even for "artistic purposes", i have to be more careful in future
Jasperflick: You are right, partly it is issue of cintiq calibration, it is not perfect between corners of screen and partly it is because i have not yet completely "adapted" to sketch digitally. I have to see can i do anything to this, thanks for critique!

Few speedies, speedie is something you do under 2h? or is the 1h limit? half hour? i have no idea...

Thanks for stopping by my SB.

Nice works. Your drawings really vary a lot. Something I should learn. And they all look pretty neat too.

You've made great progress between the 1st and the last page. Keep it up!

Well, I've read one page of posts and not the other five so I cannot say for certain but:

I believe no one has mentioned to you to get a book by one of the men who today continues the legacy of the Old Masters - Joseph Sheppard. His book: Anatomy: A Complete Guide for Artists is one of the best books I've ever purchased. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. Oh and I see fellow artists have suggested Loomis and Bridgman, so now all 3 bases are covered.

In my personal opinion however, Bridgman's books are more for the relatively more advanced crowd, while Sheppards books give the beginner a good look at the muscles. Both crowds can still enjoy both books though.

    Thumbs up

The nude sitting in the window on page 5 really caught my eye.
You have a really good grasp of light in all your pictures, but that one was particularly striking.

Your Cintiq's calibration is off? That sounds like a serious problem...

As for what is a speedpainting... I think it's relative. If you usually take three hours for something, spending one hour on something comparable can be considered be a speedy for you.

My sketchbook contains cartoon studies and Pokémon.

Hey, you're late, but i still like 'em! You may want to spend some more time thinking about the composition, but you're using your imagination well and that counts for a lot in my book. Oh, and btw, hail to the SUPERBATMAN!

sweet SB dude, i totally like the ideas you got here commbined with the wicked perspectives. your colour use is also inspiring. just gotta get better with human figures and taking more time with rendering yoour pieces out , you´ll make the last major steps to get really good.

Posts 150 & 164 are totally awesome!! my only crit could be about brush handling, try to use less brushstokes and get some more defined edges here and there, but yeah, I'm having the same problem right now...

for greyscale coloring there's a nice video tutorial, but takes quite a bit long to load: http://www.carloscabrera.com.ar/tutorials/ (it's the second one)

Bigfootrooper: the show must go on

Today felt a little sick in stomach but it is not excuse for not posting, daily DSG: spider -bird something. Posemaniacs also, 50 drawings 30s, i promised myself to do 1000 gestures after inspiration from Mattgamer. I feel rusty but it will go better after first few hundred...

hurrah for gestures! :] told you i'd check up on you. ;]

keep doing them and don't stop! also look at reference and
if you have Andrew Loomis' book: Figure Drawing For All It's Worth
then i'd recommend drawing figures from life with Loomis' mannikin too!

never give up and never grow old!
