    Hey buddy,
Not only that you reached the level of uncle Mullins, I feel like you have even overrun him.
    I am serious!

Hi Jaime, I've been following your work for some time now, and you never fail to astonish!

Ever thought of recording yourself painting, in real time?

I love the energy in the second dragon pic. Something that keeps my eyes glue to it. No idea what is it but all I know it is an eye opener for me.

Looking forward for your brushes too!

how long did it take for you to find your comfortable digital paint method?
or which brush where most useful and easier to work with or have it
always been that you are still testing different technical method before
you really take on a artwork?
hope you get what i am trying to say^^ cheers!

Everytime you update this sketchbook it's an event. It lights up everyone who sees it. After a hard day of work, this is great to come home to. I'd love it if you could update more often, and talk about your process, too.

Beautiful as always.. and thanks for posting the initial sketches for the card! Lately I've been frustrated with my work tightening up too much, and your stuff is always an inspirational example of why it can pay off to stay loose. Given me a lot to think about, so thanks!

One question, don't know if someone ask you this(probably it has) but how often do you use ref, and if you do, when do you decide when you should stop using it(btw do you use 2 monitors)?
I am asking this because i see allot of quality light and shadows in your work that is impossible to achieve without ref, or i am wrong

    Thanks in advance man

Brilliant all the way. The colors, the brushwork... Your works truly are an endless well of inspiration. Learned a lot from them too, so thanks.

Btw, are you planning to do any painting videos in the near future? I'm sure many here would even pay to see those.

Combination imagination and ref. The guy holding the sword in post 74 was from imagination, but I referenced a photo of a marble head bust for the facial anatomy. The sleeping girl was inspired by a preraphaelite painting with a similar subject. Just tried to do my own take on it. I don't think there was any reference for the second sketch in that post (girl on balcony). Just a common orientalist theme, and I like doing orientalist fan art.

I don't use a lot of layers. I use them to try out big changes that could potentially ruin a painting. If the change works, I'll flatten down, if not I'll delete it or hide it for later.

I'm not sure what superposition means. Lighting is just paint brush tool, but its built in to the process since I'm not drawing everything in outline first. I have a tough time controlling layer effects or color dodge.

Really flattered! For me he's really unbeatable, with such breadth to his skills. Still my favorite out there currently working.

    !
I'm not all that comfortable, but I settled in to the way I paint in photoshop after about 6 years of using the software. I did a lot of traditional media before and during that time, and that always helps.

I still mess with photoshop to get new effects. Its just something I do while I paint, no premeditation to it. I add brushes to my set every now and then.

Man, you are really nice . I'll try to talk more process. I'm always worried that somewhere someone is thinking "that guy is handing out advice?"

It depends on the piece, but I'll give you a recent example. That boba fett looking guy next to the dome...that one started with a set of a photos I found of Cairo. I was looking through the pictures thinking how the domes and rubble would be fun alongside techy sci-fi stuff. The ancient-looking areas are based on the photo refs, while the character and background were from imagination.
