Trying to not suck...who can help?

I did this in a perspective class. I am not so happy with the look but I am not sure where I should take it. I want to make it better.

As far as perspective, the piece of the ship on the right side of the picture looks more tilted than the one on the left.

This would be drastically improved if you look up some reference pictures for the water and try to work from those, especially for the splashing around the monster. It looks completely static.

And some more details and definition to the monster. Also, I agree with Chagan.

Perspective isn't my strong point, either, but I think it may look a bit more dynamic if you had a more top-down view of the sea serpent. It feels a bit flat I think, perhaps if there were more movement in it's neck area that may help?

Agreed, static. Where's all the debris that this guys just flung in the air as well?

I agree with PinkPrincess on the top-down view. It would be awesome to see the frightening teeth coming at the viewer, instead of safely far off. More emotional.

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of actual perspective in the picture, there's scale (big fish, little man) but where is the perspective. Choose a vanishing point and make sure everyting heads towards it.
