yo sedig, thx for stopping by my thread. i really love your marker renditions, and your photostudies are pretty sweet. your imaginative figure stuff...needs work, but i see you're working hard. one tip, really remember weight in your work. some of the posemaniacs things that you do, there isn't a sense of weight to what you do. for example, the posermaniacs pictures from post 190, the subtle differences in the outline of the shapes creates a totally different feel of weight with the subject. the feet also seem like they're floating, by not being firmly planted on the ground. check out the shapes of the arms, and the lower legs for example, to see what i mean. i'll try to do a drawing to explain what i mean if i'm being unclear. one of the best pieces of advice i could give for anatomy stuff is to try poses out yourself. get a feel for the weight, for what things are humanly possible and feasable, and what things are not, and then analyze your drawings with those things in mind; it will make your drawings more natural and believable. thx for the crits, and i wish you luck on your artistic journey. all in it together, man.

oh, i forgot. crit about the jump rope girl, her hair is drawn like she was jumping up, but her shorts appear as if she was coming down. be aware of consistency in movement in your drawings; it's the little things that will give something more movement, more expression. cheers.

I've been browsing through your earlier stuff as well, you've improve heaps. Also, I didn't know you were an architecture student like me! I've only finished one year, though. Have you found that the education has helped you in any way, perhaps mainly in perspective and environments? I haven't really come far enough in my own to recognize these already, but I've heard such from others.

But to the art. I'm pretty sure I've said it before but your line quality and economy is improving steadily and I get greener and greener with envy! But seriously, you deserve a big pat on the back. I'm especially fond of that little girl on page 7 who's jumping, the shading and lines are beautiful. Level up, right there!

    Hey there!
You got some nice improvement going on here.
As to your people drawings, you could use some stronger shadows now and then, and more contrast makes a piece more lively.
    This:

feels kinda flat, in that one you are going into the right direction:
    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...0&d=1217618670
Though I think on the last one you would expect to see more of the heads shape, now its forehead and then a little hair, you know what I mean?

Anyways, compared to former sketches, its great to see how you can use only one pencil stroke to describe a shap, like itn his one: the arms and the clothing looking so clean and nice:

    Have fun while improving!

I agree. We'll see what I can do--life's kind of intense right now. I'll try to put something up on Wednesday night. It won't be much, but it'll be something.
