Lol, of course I know the LoTR. Heh, I havent been living under a rock. But the history book for it? Er....doesnt sound all that exciting anymore...lol.

I did 2 pages of sketches today, then my scanner stopped working! So i'll try to get the rest up tomorrow. I like the one on the left. I tried to fix up the right one, but theres a lot of problems....blah.

Thanks Ditchman. I do know theyre a bit off in places, but nothing that cant be fixed if I paint em .

Heres a little 1 hour speedpaint challenge my friend and me did. Made it a little contest. I pretty much finalized mine with textured brushes and lack of skill, lol. I always love using textured brushes in speedies, i find it fun. Anyways, here.

This wasnt meant to be just a ink looking drawing, but i guess i'll blame mr. delicious for sneaking into my subconscious.

For some reason this is showing up blurry, but clear on every other site. Im a little confused as to why..or if maybe its just a glitch?...hmm.

Thanks for dropping by Mentler. I will keep on keepin on, yeahh!

I have been in the pits for the past few days, just trying to explore myself a little i guess. Trying to remember what it was i liked about art. I mean, i still have fun, but not as much as I used to have, and I think im figuring it out. I love color. Crazy color. Kind of like Benjamin. But I dont want to be a Benjamin jr...but thats in the back of my mind right now. I was introduced to his work after of a friend of mine told me i use colors kind of like him (except much shittier, lol)
Anyways...colors, lights...impressionist painting, all things i really enjoyed, and stopped doing to try to do the "concept thang" but screw that, i'll do it in my own way. Just playing around lasst night made me so happy about art again, Im gonna do some exploring into my own way of painting, and stop trying to copy everyone else.

    But yeah, heres some sketches

the girl on the bus looks really good. you might want to pull out some highlights (or rim lighting) on the pole in front, so it gives it more of a bus-y feel. nice mood, looks like rain.

Hey, looks like everything you got goin' is going well. I've been busy as usual.

You have a nice sense of color. Work on proportions and anatomy. Try different things/mediums.

    Keep it up!

Clochette: Thank you, my faces and such suck so hard. I thought I was okay, then I woke up, lol.

purb36: Hey, thanks. I was thinking about that, but im not sure if thatt heavy highlight would work too well. I'll tinker with it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Immortal: Blaaahh! You know, I hate proportion, lol. I need to remmeber this crap. Also basic perspective when positioning things. Gosh, so much to learn, so little ti---wait...I have my entire life...hm. Ok, i'll work on it.

Ok, Did a few pages in my SB, some for some website, and some for myself and 1 for a friend, and--ok, thats all.

It's been a while since I last posted a comment, and you've improved your
painting skills a lot since then!
Considering what you say about your love for color and about finding your
way, I would strongly suggest you to do more speed painting. Be wild!
Also, study face expression if you want to put more tension in your images.
I'll check back, make the engine steam ^^

Thanks Leo Ki I'll be sure to get some speeds in here. And I really need to study faces in general. From the drawn stage right to the final rendering. I need to learn a lot.

Heres a piece im doing for a small company in my city. Its going to be on christmas cards. I'll keep posting the proccess as I go along. Theres going to be 3 in total.

i really like that 'negative space' piece. a couple of things might improve it though - her arm looks too long from shoulder to elbow. the left side has obvious round brushmarks, and the foreground could also use a little sharpening up I think?
it's too good to not bother with i think

I also love the speedpaint of the robot gunner, great sense of mass and movement

Heres some bus sketches. People on the bus in my city are stinky
