monstertree: "nudge nudge" :P think I'll join next COW, let's see about that then! :D won't be any line-fetishism then.

per request :3 so happy people are liking my bird people.. actually they're just a rip-off with a bit of imagination from zelda wind waker but they've certainly grown on me. wish I'd have more to post. will work on it sir yes sir! >:U7

EDIT: some bg on the motif. the bird people of the world of mine to which they pertain are known for their genial nature and social climates. their natural way of life is material detachment and flying alot across the lands between (mainly avian) cities, oftenly not rooted anywhere and with more acquaintances than humans usually have as a result (they have a tendancy for being diplomats and advisors where and when human culture receives them respectfully). anyways. they do build cities as they do like lively destinations to their journies where they oftenly need to rest up and may not fly for a matter of days.. and they're big on traditions and making occasions for festivities. anyways. these cities always breed children who (like computer nerds) do not find an eye for the joy of flying before they immerse themselves in recreational occupations or just play as their childhood by human definition usually is very long.
so this requires special attention from adult (flying) mentoring or flying pedagogs who take on the task of helping the no-flier fledglings to break down their attitudes and find the joy of flying to be the primary way of life. in the picture one such fledgling is a very spoiled child past her age who is learning to enjoy the feel of flying to build a motivation of her own to take on the long and hard work to build up the alary musculature needed to fly which doesn't come by itself like the feathers do.... ;))

monstertree: Thanks! yes I was really happy with the composition of the wings. I'm starting to learn composition with poses. it's hard as heck. this piece took me like two hours figuring out how to pose the mother xV.
Aryeh: well I'm a bit lazy in my imagination atm so I'm resorting to bird people instead of coming up with new stuff but it's also cool to build a larger portfolio of the same concept.
    Arnaldo Rivera: Thanks!

phew! new piece, very pleased, composition not as stunning but working I think, lots of hours spent, tired x) tomorrow start new one! HUH!

Hey mate! Someones been busy, good to see you drawing again. Great stuff as usual, only nitpick would be the birdman in the middle of the three who seems very flat around the ribcage.

monstertree: I'll do it just for you just wait! <3<3
Jove: now there's someone I'm happy to hear back from since a while :) I think you're spot on! also mother's leg is kind of bent and stuff but I get away with it ;P ;P btw: sketchmeet in stockholm in a few weeks/a month? check the Sweden, Denmark.... sketchmeet thread!
Yor: so happy you like them! I won't stop! :)
got something that caught my spare time in the middle of CHoW#252 but was kind of uninspired anyway but did a quick paint sketch. it was shaman with animal spirit theme and mine was moth shaman. would've been cool to finish. will wait for the next theme that goes down my alley and make a proper entry next time :)

working on an other will-be more serious nature piece. forest with a brook scene, after watching John Howe - There and Back Again got rather stoked by our similarities in work method in drawing so I want to finish this shit and colour it. just need to add some cliché robed elves or something in it's ready for photoshop....

so this was the more serious nature piece. tiresome piece ugh, finished with the pencil phase, now for adding leaves and colouring in photoshop. wanted to do it because I got inspired after watching John Howe - There and Back Again (so I just had to add an elf in there x)) will try to colour it kind of like Howe's style I hope.

hey nim would you consider your bird people "furries"

do they mate in the air like regular birds do
do they regurgitate to feed the baby birdies
    do they crash into windows
