    hey man,

    these are really great. i love your people, and the thumbnails way back in the beginning are great, pumping out those thumbs can be really tough some times.
    some of your life drawing, the shoulders look tight, like the person is shrugging for no apparent reason.
    the colors you use are awesome, i wish i could use something other than white and black for different values =D.
    looks like you get carried away with blurring sometimes, don't forget about the hard edges!

    Thanks man!

    -Jim

    Thanks guys, for the really encouraging comments!

    jdeegz: ya, i agree with everything you said. I always seems to have stiff poses and can't get away from that. lol, and yes... I've been working on trying not to over blur things. I think it is going to take some more practice.

    A fat scareCrow... Fun little exercise at work.

    hey man, really nice stuff, diggin the digi painted characters and monsters.
    ...altho the use of a tad bit more ref in some of them would have helped (like in the bee one)...imho you should play with some photo overlayed textures as well, to get some quck texture on top of your rendered guy that can be reworked on another layer on top...would have been neat on the buffalodile

    keep sharinG!

    WIP... little smurf village. I'm trying out what TheGnoll suggested with some overlayed photos on top. It's already made a huge improvement in my early steps, but i may try to add some more. ;-) go crazy with it.

    Hey there fury,

    You got all the stuff in here. Cool critters, environments, and interesting characters. yeah that last environment looks good and photos are very fun to mess with. You got some nice lighting going in there also. Keep drawing and painting. Nice work!

    Great stuff. Especially like how you handle colours and light. Also really nice concepts.
    One thing I noted; You seem to avoid to draw feet. Dont be afraid, they usually dont bite.

    Wow... so many replies. Really encourages me to draw more! Thanks Guys!

    Dranyer- thanks! I don't know what is was about that coconut crusher, but i really liked that one too. I seem to start those weekly challeges too late and don't finish.

    Trashy- thanks!

    Gib- lol, i don't know about you... but the feet i draw usually bite. So i try to hide them . Good observation though, ill work on that

    Arbinn- thanks!

    WIP Here's the latest cow, Catapult creature...

    Wanted to do a smaller critter that maybe flips/catapults small stones or pebbles to make its shelter. I was thinking that the large abdomen (butt) area would be the center of gravity and use the large back legs as anchors. While the front head area is more a wedge shape to slip under the rocks and the thinner but longer front legs would be used like a springs. I was thinking more like a sucker fish for the food... where its mouth would be under its head and feeds off the algae and plants along the floor.

    Still need to finish it... but the process so far

    Nice paintings & Z sculpts;
    Loved the paint of "Coconut crusher" & model of "Old boy"
    Cool sketches in ink;
    A perfect 5 star rating for this one.
    Maybe you should post all your painting in the "Finished works" category.
    I don't think you need to post the doodles of human stick figures, unnecessarily hikes up the loading time;

    I dig the environments and the texture on your last piece. I dig your style but i think if you use larger brushes your work would look much tighter. Keep it up!

    Thanks guys for the kind words! I got several sketches from my sketchbook that i haven't scanned in yet...

    but... in the mean time. This is the final for the Catapult Creature. Arrrg... i was pretty frustrated on this on. Didn't really come out the way i wanted... I think i need to spend more time in the thumbnail stage to get a more dynamic image. but whatever. I am happy i finished it before i go on vacation tomorrow.

    Concept: South American Black Stone Ant

    Located throughout the forest floors of South America, the Black Stone Ant catapults small stones or pebbles to make its shelter. These shelters usually take several years to possibly the life span of the insect to finish. The large abdomen area and rear legs have been due to ages of evolution and have become an anchor for the catapulting procedure. The front head is more a wedge shape to slip under the rocks and thinner but longer legs are used as springs. The black stone ant feeds off the algae and moss that grows on the damp wet forest floor.

    what a fuckin awesome start to a sketchbook! your creature designs blew me away. you're pretty good with environments as well. got anymore detailed enviro sketches/paintings? if not, you should tackle those since character design is definitely your strong point. focus on your weak points.

    Thanks guys!!

    Got today off and decided to doodle a little.

    A weak spacecraft... First one i've really ever tried to paint. I used some techniques from a couple of video's i watched... using the ink blot brush, trying to find shapes out of random brushes....

    Your pencil work is killer. Your digipaintings are pretty awesome too. Try adding. Nothing really to criticize here.
