Why are the floaty bits the same intensity as the mountains miles away, and why do they cast no shadows?

It's a cute picture with a nice mood, but I believe you need to plan more when working. Try doing more thumbnails and sketches when you work. This artwork could be improved with better contrast and cleaner lines, but you should probably think about the motive before going there.
It's very unclear where we are and what we are seeing. Some cliff/mountain with a plateau where there's dirt, and a couple of floating islands. It could work together, but you've covered the rest of the background with hills thats covered with grass. Maybe add similar objects, like more floating islands in the back, or as previous poster mentioned you could let a castshadow drop down on the camp.
Keep at it tho, I like the colours. The picture has a very comfortable mood in it, and details such as the small red bird works good.
Hope to see more!
