what, have programs lol ?
April 8th, 2008 #214
Hey, thanks for the comment on my sketchbook
Do you have a wacom?
Keep doing those anatomy studies, they will really get you places fast.
Are you doing rough sketches on those photoshop pieces first, or just going as you go? A initial detailed sketch will help you figure out anatomy problems etc before you go to all the work of finishing a piece and then realize it.

Hey lilnebo, you posted in my SB and I felt I needed to return the favour to you.
I see that your line confidence has been improving a lot, but there's still some sketchy lines. I hope you haven't heard this before, but just make the line. Move you hand over the area to get the feeling, and when it feels good, just make the line and leave it. Even if the line is imperfect, don't mess with it.
Hope this does help, everything looks good so far. Good luck with the studies!

hey girl , time for an comment in here.
from the first sight you must be a beginner , no hehe , you are just 13-14 right`?
anyways i started drawing seriously like you do now with 15. and wasn´t much better than you then.
so if i could give you an advice to avoid mistakes i have done back in the days while beeing on my journey discovering the enlightment of true art.
forget drawings from mind! stop wasting time on them until you can capture a peoples character by doing a portrait. yeah life drawings the realer they look while drawing from subjects in your early state, the better your stuff from mind will get when you handle it finally. photoshop refs aren´t bad either they will help you for an understanding of mass and volume and colours . but only drawnig with a pencil will help you improving your linework. so there´s no time to waste! go for your dream now!
i´ll be watching
aviable for fulltime and freelance

Alex: Thankkkksss loaaads. I tried to work on a portrait digi but I'll finish it tomorrow, and i will keep drawing alot!
Hey guys finally after like 4 days i can now give a proper update.
This is all from today ijust sat for about 6 hours or more and just drew ahhh felt good XD.
First 2 are ones which i just took my time with.
After that i tried doing almost like gestures but not so quick about 10 minutes each and blocked in color just for the fun of it. The bigger ones are 15 mins and then theres one i done from imagination.
Digi: a wip of a portrait, trying out the black and white tech but failed lawl guess i gotta practice more will try again. 2mro am going to the zoo YA i can draw animals *drools* loads nd loads of animals lawl. Good practice i guess.
Cya guys 2mro. And c&cs would be very much appreciated.
Ohhh i like my new avatar XD

hey lilnebo! nice stuff, good improvement from the start of this book, great to see so many studies keep it up!
think it would be cool if you concentrated on some in depth line drawings from life, any sort of objects, fruit, t-shirt, whatever, try and show the form and capture the shape through lines, leave out the rendering at first. do a couple of quick sketches first to get an idea of the basics of what you are drawing then go for a finished line drawing, concentrating on everything you thought about during the quick sketches and everthing your taking in after drawing it for a while, don't get bogged down with it though, just have fun, move on if you aren't enjoying the drawing you are doing.
with rendering try and follow the form, look at the shape of what you are sketching and try and show form with hatching, drawing from life will probably teach that best
cheers and keep it up!

Genius_Malignus: thank you
Mortem: huh? what do you mean...
krossj: Thanks!!. People have been telling me stuff like this but never really explained it 2mro! i will try it lawl it seems it will be great as long as i can find something to draw. for me that is the trick part lawl.
Today went to the zoo, all are only really quickies not much of an update.

Thanks for comment.
Nothing really to crit on. One thing I found in the replies you got is from Alexandr Pascenko, which I think is quite correct. I still can't draw good portraits with pencil, and this do affect my painting in a bad way.
Those thumb(?) looks nice, a bit messy though. Maybe do some detail studies like the ipod one you did will help your drawing, I think this will train you to be organized with your work.

You're definitely improving. All I can say is to force yourself to not do 2-10 min studies but rather an hour + studies. True, you'll get a lot of sketching done in that amount of time at that rate but what you learn will be SOOOO much more with the longer studies.

check out a guy named Brom
i see a lot of compositional elements in his work that you can use
especially the circle behind the figure.
just a suggestion
thank you for dropping by and posting at the sketchbook
