make sure in some of your paintings you figure out the proportions first before you paint it in. the girly guy has some major anatomy problems but it's rendered very well which looks kind of strange. i think you could also work on adding more details to your eyes. they don't hold up to how good the skin is.
keep it up

whee, thank you guys and girls
(im in a hurry, sorry! cant miss classes)
Yay, I got internet at school!
These are sketches I did at Angel Academy of Art, Florence. It's not much, I know! But it's only my 2nd day ever here, (my 3rd, as of today), and we've been working mainly on the Bargue drawings only. Mine is 50% finished, I wonder if that makes me fast or slow?? Anyway, I'll upload it soon.
Angel Academy of Art is cool. I couldn't think of a better art education (for me). It focuses on technique and craft only, which I'm convinced are the only things in art that can be taught. And Michael John Angel, the founder, is really cool. In general, people here are really nice! And they're from many different countries - Sweden, Switzerland, Argentinia, Finland, France, New Zealand...
And Florence is really beautiful but also scary. With its number of cars and motorcycles, the city center looks like Mumbai at rush hour, but all day (and probably night too). Düsseldorf looks so cozy in comparison...
Life drawing is going to happen next week, yeah, yeah! These are gesture drawings from reproductions. We were instructed to "draw only the pose, not the figure" (that's essentially gesture drawing). I had to simplify shapes a lot.

I'll upload the first Bargue drawing later

WoW! You have such dedication! I love all of the figure sketches and portrait work! I want to have that kind of practice

Racasdorph, thank you
So here's my very first Bargue drawing ever, done at Angel Academy of Art, Florence. Behold its immaculate glory! XD

Second Bargue
Had to redo it once, because I messed up badly the first time. Nonetheless, I still was one of the first in our class to finish it.

Really funny to see you doing the exact same exercises as dorian, your scetchbooks look so similar now O_O I tremble in the anticipation of things that promises!
-

Peter and Faust, thank you
Yeah I guess my sketchbook will look similar to Dorian's, as I'm doing now exactly the same drawing exercises as he did/does XD

Gret Life-drawings, I always envy aritsts that can catch gestures and expressions with lines and the training you're receiving must be fantastic! BTW, your location says Meerbusch, are you out of Florence?
-
-
Thanks Faust
Erm, I'm in Florence right now, will go back to Meerbushc in December, but I'm too lazy to change my location here XD
OK, new drawing! This one actually isn't finished. It should have taken longer, but our model sudpdenly cancelled... so we all sat there with half finished drawings! but next week we'll make sure to have a model who'll really stay with us for 2 weeks (its supposed to be a 2 week pose)

At first, I was going "I wanna do that shit too", but a month on one flipping drawing, that is a little more than I can handle. We norwegians are much to tempremental, we must do things and be properly active, that being said, I have an immense respect for anyone who can pull that stuff of, bravo!

superb my dear, superb
post more!!!

hp, I see no smudge, might be my weird notebook screen, but thanks
@Hannes
Hey, no exploding here please, I don't want mashed brains in my sketchbook Dx
Mischeviouslittleelf, thank you
It's actually not as difficult as it sounds xD When working on a drawing like these, get used to taking your time and relaxing, and the instructors are picky and ALWAYS find something to improve.
Peter, thank you
second 2 week pose finished! yay!

Wow, that model looks like an italian babe with attitude, haha! Awesome work on the figure, as far as I can tell. The values all round up VERY nicely, the thing shes's leaning doesn't convince me, though. The base seems very asymmetrical and a bit wobbly. It seems you made several simplifications of part of the body, like on the face (Does it in order to lean more to an idealistic representation? I'd like some information on this, but only if it's not top-secret
)
Now that I look more at it, I see several things with her that bother me a bit like her shoulder (mainly her right shoulder, it looks very long, maybe because it's hard to make out where the neck is), also her hands bother me, espescially her right, looks a bit like her thumb is too short, but I think all those are like you saw them, probably.
[/rant of a jealous amateur]

Thank you Faust, she's indeed an italian babe with attitude, haha
Yep, the thing she's leaning on is messed up Dx damn.

Some lovely work here, just keep pushing and you'l be one of the greats soon!
quickie crit - you seem to have a lot of sharp edges, could do with some softer bits here and there (in the digis) and maybe some face studies?
-
-
gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!
your 2 week life drawings are incredible. x_x
how does that work out, exactly?
the model has to stand in the exact same spot every session?
do you guys mark your spots in tape? o____O
do tell.
