    Here goes nothing..

    So I guess you usually start off these threads by introducing yourself ah well;
    My name is Nadim, I recently turned 16, I live in Sweden and I've been doing this for about.. 6 months? Well I've been taking photos for as long as I can remember, but I haven't really seen the art behind it untill recently. Ah well, enough yapping more posting pictures..

    Oh right, my "gear" I use a Canon Powershot A640.. It's a pretty decent camera, not an SLR, but it gets the job done

    The pictures aren't in any special order.

    You're getting some nice tones in your photos. I particularly like 11, 12 & 13. Keep working on your compositions though.

    P.S.: Nice cards.

    seems like you've got a good grip on post-processing, which is important to make an photo presentable. There's usually two things I tell people who are starting to get serious about photography. 1) avoid macros 2) avoid those selective-color cutouts (like #15). Lets see some more. The more you shoot, the better.

    I like #19, it has some really nice tones and depth. Would crop out the bottom part with the edge of the plane though.

    Your sister is cute.

    of the latest batch #20 is the strongest for me, simply because it shows something, it communicates with the viewer. I think the Damascus picture has a much more interesting setting, however it stops short of the kind of communication with the viewer. Lack of a strong focal point may be to blame. The interesting parts of that picture are: 1. the minaret 2. the interplay between the satellite dishes and their shadows. But theres nothing really definite there.

    #20 is stronger I think. It is visually exiting with depth provided by the layers of extreme foreground and foreground, the mid ground and a background, all contributing to a more harmonious image. Plus there's some real personality coming through. #21 is weaker because frankly it looks like a well rendered family snapshot. I mean the quality of the image is much higher than most family snaps, and the composition is a bit more interesting, but that's not enough to really make it shine for me.

    Cheers and keep shooting
