Damn you Whit! Here I am, thinking I'm all cool with my thread in Finally Finished, then you come in and BAM it's all over for me. In all honesty dude, this stuff is awesome. The limited value range on those samurai (dawn or twilight? looks like dawn to me) is so spot on I dont know what to do. Keep on truckin you beautiful man you.

Jedmo hey jaames... wuzzuuuuuuup! how was yer Christmas? that samurai one was pretty fun, i stumbled upon like 300 great pictures of Antarctica and then did that painting... thankens
foster Hey dood! I had figured people had forgotten/didn't care about my abstracts, but you mentioned them, so I posted this one for you! thanks man, you've always been an inspiration to me
andyhunt hey, glad you like it dood... colors r easy when you copy the masters!!
cognition.sb thanks man... there is no better subject matter than hot subject matter.
Rist as for the traditional/digital... yes it does help to do both i think... i've learned so much from doing both that I couldn't possibly do without one or the other. glad you enjoyed the video... i wasn't sure if anybody would like it.
"How did you manage to get into the CA school? Well connected, or rich parents, or just lucky?"
--- that statement made me laugh... well connected?! just work hard and apply.
Chris Noeth hey chris... thanks very much man! I love that feeling too.
Kian thanks mate!
Skeiff thank you... did i hear you were thinking of applying to the ca school? that would be cool.
Hyskoa I had no idea there were so many things with progress in the name... the brain, the police... i didn't know they had progress divisions. the best way to progress is to only think about progress at all times, progress.
Zaknafain hahahah... what makes you so sure i'm not a stoner ?
Wasker neither do i
archipelago I don't really have too much of a preference pencil/digital... it really depends on what I'm sketching I suppose.. If it's tech/environment I generally start digital... if it's a figure... it could be either... but I do keep a sketchbook for times of boredom/waiting/chilling.
Coinpurse this was a life study.
Cicinimo hey dude... long time no speakenze that one isn't new... but after i finished painting it I realized that I would probably not make a head painting as good for a long time....
InvertedChalupa when i think of you i think of this:

Marko Djurdjevic heh... don't know if i would be a good teacher.. but i definitely learned a lot when biting your style cheers.. and lookin forward to seein you in seattle!
Idiot Apathy hehe.. i sure did steal your one year idea!! when i see you in seattle i'm going to steal the tendons from your hand so you can never draw again!
Define. schooling definitely helps with color use..... i had a really good color theory teacher in Savannah, and I have learned a shitload about painting directly with color at the conceptart school.
Carnifex I had just watched conan the barbarian... and the most important thing is to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women.
m@. hey... thanks man! you act as if you haven't gotten any better! i've been loving your stuff more and more! really lookin forward to awkwardly trying to contain my joy when meeting you!

An incredible amount of Inspiration! Both your digital enviornment and your traditional figures/cats studies are amazing. It seems you've really taken advantage of your time this past year. I really enjoyed your 2 downloads and hope to see more from you. Thanks for posting.

Hey man! Amazing stuff! Its good to see you doing all kinds of stuff, not just figure work but environments too which you seem to both rock at! Wish I had the money to come see you guys at the event! Oh well, theres next year...and your tutorial to buy! Runs off to download it! Woot!
Edit : Oh and to tell you what I see in your last painting, for me it looks kinda like an aftermath of a giant battle, I can sort of see some giant dude on the left sitting down, and appears sad, maybe he just had a battle with the only other giant of his kind and thats the bloody mess on the right? Ha! Proabably way off but theres what I see.

Hi Whit thanks for the reply. I would apply for there too if I lived anywhere close (from the UK). Might look into it after I graduate. How much is the tuition? Can it be paid off from a loan/grant?
Sorry for the questions, would love to know this.
Great abstract. I can see a native american village on fire from Nordic Vikings. Although I did watch Pathfinder the other day...

It's a good thing you're not sleeping on my floor anymore. Every morning I'd walk out of my room and see you asleep and I could just never figure out if I should rape you and then break your hands or break your hands and then rape you for getting so good.

wow, really stunning work..... rock on!!

Hey blondie. Your insane. Amazing stuff you made this year.
The light in these paintings, so beautiful. I totally buy these, I can imagine walking around in your environments. The environments with the seasons are intresting. But the first environment really does it for me.
And your observational skills are very well. The cast paintings are very very nice, especially the torso.
This one made it for me. The light and the atmosphere is very nice.
Keep inspiring us.

soooo......looks like you learned how to draw...
thanks tons for this whit. It's a huge source of motivation for me, I've been feeling full of art fail for a while-and this just reminds me it's due to lack of hard work.

I would usualy hate abstract stuff like that last painting there, but strangely I actualy want your drawing in my house and i think it would work great in a restaurant as well! Great work!
Your other drawings are stunning, but thats a given.

At first I was going to say the enviros were my favorite, but the portraits are so spare and still say so much they are really making me look again and again. Really nice. I love it when that kind of economy meets the spot-on look of a subject.

You're one of my favorites, Alduar.
How many hours a week do you attend life drawing class?
My critique: sharpen the edges of your painted forms, and try more varied color schemes. I normally see dull, subdued, gentle color schemes from you, nothing bright or too extreme. It could be more sophisticated, but it could also get boring.

edit: eminkey, I didn't mean to come out lookin like a jerk, my response was bit hasty... I think it stands as an opinion but calling it a crit insinuates that there is something fundamentally flawed with not painting in high key, which he's obviously capable of doing.
