Ich wünschte, du würdest das Meerjungfrauenbild ausarbeiten oder eine ausgearbeitetere Version davon malen... Perspektive und Farben sind nämlich sehr faszinierend^^

Hey man, you're crazy with the updates! I see a lot of improvement in your colors. I also really like some of the storytelling you're throwing in ocassionally, more of that! but keep working on proportions of the figure and composition. It seems like you frequently make the head size too large - so pay careful attention to that. I also still see a lot of centralized compositions - play around with empty space and congestion and elements of the composition helping each other out. If you look at those photos you are studying you'll see that the elements of the composition are set up to move the eye around. Keep up the hard work!

I'm very curious about the process of your 10 min photo studies. It'd be great if you could make a video of it

    So many people

LECO, thanks a lot, and please do, it helps tons!

Mepp, naja es ist ne englische Seite da kann man schon englisch sprechen oder?

Azalin, thanks, and yeah I guess you're right it's just natural that practice leads to improvement

    Alena, danke

    Reject-D, thanks!

shamandalie, well I do have both the time machine and the mechanic hands, but I decided to use neither because that would be so boring

Fishspawn, thanks a lot! I really came to like storytelling so I'll do more of that... and yeah man, you're so right, my proportions still suck bigtime. I need to work harder! Thank you for the advice on composition, that sounds so interesting, I should really start playing around with such stuff!

Farin, thank you Sir! Shapes huh, damn right, I need to foucs on such thinks, maybe that's why my stuff looks so flat too!

Leysan, oh it's nothing special, I just look for the big blobs and colors and paint them O_O Hmm maybe I'll do a video? I don't know

So now let's seeeee... here's a bit of stuff. First some studies of people you might know. The first one is about 1h20min, the rest between 45 mins and 1 hour.

Then here's a couple of selfportraits...

A non-reffed oekaki... 90 minutes, way too long I'm afraid...

Huh? I thought I had more. There's a lot of anatomy studies and sketchbook pages I didn't scan yet. Too lazy, I'd rather spend that time drawing

You're making me cry again man.... those movie scene studies are awesome. The skin tones are just so lively, love your strokes too. The last portrait is sweet as well, really can't crit on anything. The sketches can be improve more though, I think you'll achieve that very soon.

Die Übung zahlt sich aus, die Gesichter sind toll. Ich vermiss nur die Wimpern und im letzten kommen mir die Haare auf der rechten Schulter etwas seltsam vor.

Its really funny, usually in these sketchbooks people have really nice sketches, but a lot of trouble painting. You kind of seem the opposite. Your paintings capture an amazing amount of life, but the sketches seem a good bit behind. Either way you've come miles from your first post, and I really enjoy your stuff.

What the hell is going on in here Awesome!!

UnSharpened, sorry, me no mean to make you cry! And yeah, pencils pencils, I can't stand how bad mine are so I need to work harder!

    Lotet, ty

Leysan, danke, lashes huh, yeah I always seem to forget that O_O

Alexandr Pascenko, no, I'm slow! You're superslow! Just kidding, thanks a ton mate! And yessssssss. I'll bust out more pencil stuff. I discovered Wes Burt yesterday. Daaaaaamn I SUCK so much, I need to practiccccccccce that shit!

GusTheRobot, wow, thank you very much!

    flamable, man, thanks!

    shamandalie, tyvm

Autumnal Dream, not insane, motivated Considering all the Photoshop brushes and effects... just don't use em Or download other people's brushes and try to understand the "why"s and "how"s.

Murido, thanks a bunch! Err, timespan... when you're working digitally, one to two hours should be enough, the first 20-30 minutes of which used to get down all the important features and structures, as a base on which you build and render the rest.

Hive_minD, thanks buddy Everyone seems to love Gandalf

S.M, yeah you spelled it right Thanks! And yeah, Terra Galleria is totally awesome

Farin, nee ich rauch nix, eben das ist das Geheimnis Just kidding, thanks man, err, the color feeling comes with practice, just like with everything else The reason I suck less with colors than with lines is that I started out as a painter, not a drawer... I guess

EtherRain, thanks dude, if you weren't improving so fast i wouldn't need to practice so much

frog and *BAM*, your name is totally awesome, and thanks a lot! And yeah, you're totally right. Well the reason is, when i started doing art seriously, in summer of 2007, all I did was digital stuff. I don't think I even touched a pencil until i started this thread here. I obviously lacked foundation and my anatomy and pencil stuff sucks bigtime because of it, but I learned a good deal about colors and brushwork. Well not too much.

    Helioth, sorry Thanks a ton!

    Chalid, thanks mate

Mischeviouslittleelf, thanks, and oekaki is some online painting application with integrated community stuff, it's pretty awesome because you can watch playbacks of the paintings of other people! Check it out: http://www.oekaki.de/bbs/index.php <- Jana Schirmer is pretty active there. I love her stuff so much!

Soooo today! I got up to discover I had caught the worst flu ever, having head and and stomach ache and whatnot. But stuff like that won't stop me from doing art, so I decided to draw! But I didn't scan everything. Sorry for being so lazy D=

I practiced today! Drawing myself from life and studying anatomy and all that good stuff. But i only scanned these two pages of hands. Lol no visible progress
Damn I think I got a really bad cold... that's what you get for drawing yourself half-naked in front of the mirror. Damn.
