EDIT: Newer stuff towards the bottom pf the thread**
Howdy folks. I've been sketching more often lately, so I thought I'd scan some stuff in and dump it. I'll try to update this every once in a while. Any comments or suggestions are most welcome.
For starters I'm posting some technical sketches (mostly studies from Feher's Cyclopedia Anatomicae), a couple weird little concept sketches for paintings and illustrations, some character ideas from a cartoon I've been thinking about doing about the world's greatest thinkers, some skulls, a sketch of an update to Marvel comics' Rhino character, and a Photoshop speed-sketch of a big ugly face.

A couple older sketches that I found on my hard drive...
Here's a digital sketch of my wife that I did earlier today. i'm not used to working 100% digital; I usually start on paper, scan, tweak, and color. I like painting in Photoshop, but I'm not very good at it yet. I have a 4-day weekend from work, so hopefully I'll be posting more sketches later on.
Don't know how I didn't stumble across artpad sooner... fun stuff... the best part is after you paint something, you can go back and watch an animation of every brush stroke. Here's a quick doodle i did while I should have been working today...
Hey, some nice stuff here. I really like your looser sketches, they have a very nice line quality. I notice though that some of your anatomy studies have a scratchy look, (mine tend towards the same thing) maybe try to be a bit looser with them. The point isn't to copy the example exactly, but to learn how the body works and is put together, along with the general proportions.
Also, in the sketch of your wife, there is definitely something wonky about her left shoulder, the one closest to the viewer. Looks quite a bit too large, or something.
Keep up the good work, you've got a nice start here.
Thanks for the kind words.
Swampdigger: You're right about her shoulder: she's holding the camera out in front of her and taking a picture of herself (myspace style), but since I didn't finish the shadows and details it looks like its big & meaty and going down by her side.
Long time since I posted on here... here are various things i've tooled around w/ in the past few months... haven't had much free time, as you can see... none of these are really "finished". The Lovecraftian image and the "Technomancer" have both been posted in other threads long long ago, but I haven't gotten around to working on them any more since then. The Jacob's Ladder piece is brand new (as of today)
