    Sci fi character concepts.

Here are a couple of character designs from a long over due project that I've been working on. Now with Christmas Break I'm planning on finishing it up. Take a look and tell me whatcha think! One of the issues I have been facing as I'm sure a lot of artist are, is making each character distinctive from one another. So I did my best to accomplish that here with these two.

They may be in danger of future back problems.

Agreed Kek @_@ aside form that interesting design, i would play up the curvature of their bodies, especially if they are going to have that body type, accentuate their curves and give them a nice hourglass and curved legged form instead of so boxy and static.

Cool. Thanks for the comments. They are greatly appreciated. Also to note. I did both these drawings in painter 9. Its a very unique program.

I don't see anything sci-fi about these concepts. Your light sources are confusing, especially on the arms of the second one. Make the boob further back slightly smaller from perspective. The right arm (screen left) of the second image, the shoulder looks wrong with that line cutting all the way across. Those pouches and straps look a bit cliche and don't make sense on the arms to me.

Are these for "sci-fi" themed porn?

ummmm...No. If you don't have any useful critiques to add to my work, then please don't respond. Also Puck. Thanks for the comment. I'll look into adding those changes in the next go over.

Well, my critique was about their enormous boobs and porno poses. And their outfits ae supposed to be sci-fi because they have lots of straps and pouches?
I don't know, maybe they are meant to be ironic, making fun of such comic book
cliches, otherwise it's a bit tacky. Just my opinion.

While I find nothing pornographic about the poses, the story itself is a throwback to the old 40-50 style pulp serials. This story revolves around these two clone sisters engaged in a war against an enemy faction. So their attire is molded in that sense. Its light, fun, and hippy. As for the boobs, that is just a personal preference. I get commented on that a lot so I've gotten used to it. I'll post more work as it is completed so you can get the overall aesthetic of the book.

You can understand why people would be asking "where's the sci-fi?" when you labelled them as 'Sci-fi character concepts' when they are really just drawings of women. And they obviously are meant to be sexy (or a bit 'porny' as Occidental Martyr puts it) with the provocative poses and pants undone revealing the knickers . Though there's nothing wrong with that in my book.

Another suggestion I can make is to vary the line weight, try using different strength lines in different places (look at good comic work for reference).

also, with the boobs, it doesn't matter how big those breasts are, unless their top is perfectly skin-tight, you would not get those dark lines running up the sides of the boobs - you would get a shadow that would substitute for a line, but the line suggests that the material sticks to the boobs and gets 'pinched' underneath and on the sides of them before joining the rest of the top.

and finally, in the second pose, the feet seem too close together in depth which makes it look a little bit unbalanced to me -perhaps because she looks as if she is standing on her heel - maybe tilt her foot down a bit so the boot contacts the ground flat.
