If you like Evangelion, i strongly recommend downloading the Concept Design Works book. The picture above is one of the few colour pages in the book, most of it is concept drawings. In my opinion, it is the best Eva book. It's the only one i own. I don't think those other books like Der Mond or whatever are worth buying.
I actually find it hard to imagine From Software have been around more than 25 years, but i guess they have been! Attachment 1193673
This all brings up a memory for me, maybe you lot can help me with it. Back in the late 70's/early 80's there was a trend of books coming out with names like Alien Worlds and Fantastic Planets and Space Wreck and the like (note that these may not be the right names, memory and all), that seemed to have a whole lot of art culled from goodness knows where, maybe book covers and the like, connected by a travelogue sort of narrative. I haven't got a lot of hopes of seeing those books again, but I'd love to at least confirm that someone else remembers that stuff, and maybe find some of that great SF art.
Edited to add: Looking around a bit, I remember that Chris Foss always had a lot of art in the SF themed ones (and was even shoehorned into a few of the fantasy ones). I was always drawn to his huge, strangely architectural spaceships.
"Skill is the result of trying again and again, applying our ability and proving our knowledge as we gain it. Let us get used to throwing away the unsuccessful effort and doing the job over. Let us consider obstacles as something to be expected in any endeavor; then they won't seem quite so insurmountable or so defeating." - Andrew Loomis
I stumbled across this thread again and I'd like to see it keep open. I love these types of threads. Very inspirational stuff. I'll be posting some stuff when I can find it soon. For example Kilian Plunkett's (Star Wars) stuff as soon as I can find a decent page.
