Oh my lord! Your stuff is absolutely stunning! Definitely an inspiration to the rest of us! I dont see much 'ugly' in this sketchbook.

You have such a sense of realism too! Even if that self portrait doesn't look like you to you, it's still a fabulous piece!

I'll check back periodically to see more of your awesomeness. LOL. Great work!

    cool stuff

    cool mutations...
    so Finally we meet..

Ive noticed your works in the Tantra website ..the reclining vamperilla...
Way going I see a 'Linda B' in making..
You seriously have wat it takes to reach that level...

yea I know Shyam...though not personally ofcourse...
we used to work in two different offices in the same premise.
Ofcourse he is a great talent and a hard worker too..

I've seen a very few of us 'desis' doin the 'runaway train' stuff.

Should say you are definitely one of them...
great stuff and wat an incredible amount of patience ...
    so you are based at?
    which part of the industry...?
Should do a chapter in india..a meet sorta...we should all have that cult blood flowing inside...

Its that i'm 'pissed off ' with wat they are doing with the media..
    'industrial rape'...bullshit...

    anyways...keep workin..
you have all the stars in the sky...
    amazing stuff...
There is but one short cut to success...apparently its called Hardwork.

Ack, ridiculous texture work. I need to figure out how to get some of that intense fleshness in my work.

    Sorry about the late reply

Ead:Thank you very much! Painting flesh is a bit of an obsession I guess, I really need to diversify more.

    Mr.Juicy:Thank you!

Mock: Thank you very much. Trying hard

Kronos:Hahaha, it will be the death of me. I am having a hard time figuring out the other wing. Thanks though!

    OmertA:Thank you!

    Vulgar`:Haha thanks!

BohemianChaos:Thanks! You know, I was going to write about how the eyes are off. I can't really go back and fix though because I resized my psd to the jpg size Oh well, I'll do another one

bumskee: I don't know how you make such amazing paintings either Thank you for stopping by.

animosapien:Thank you! Soo like I said, I work at Rhythm & Hues as a texture painter and lookdev TD. Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely art

Medieve: Thanks! Like I said, I work as a texture painter, I guess some of that detail obsession spills into my paintings too. I am trying to get shake some of it off though.

    Reject-D: Thank you!

    phantomfrog: Thank you very much!

*ViRuS*: Thanks! SP's are always fun to do, I don't run the risk of offending anyone

So I've been really missing life drawing/portraiture sessions (my last was almost 3 years ago I think, not counting 5 mins sketches and self portraits)and I'm determined to get back to doing them.I've also been looking at some work at Jacob Collins, James Kei, Dan Thompson and Zhaoming Wu's work and feeling sooo inspired and intimidated. I need to get that painterliness in my work.
I have managed to convince some friends to pose (portraits for now). It took a lot of emotional blackmail and food bribes but I think I am set for the next 2-3 weeks. For last week I had a friend ( I hate saying colleague, so pretentious ) model for me. Dileep is SO full of energy, it took him great effort( also a few stern warnings from me might have helped haha) to sit still . But he was super nice and even came back the second day so I could finish ( which I didn't but..). So this was a very difficult exercise for both the model and the arteeest.Painting from life is a hard, humbling experience.
I have one more pass to go but here's what I have so far. About 3 1/2 to 4 hours not counting coffee breaks and such. I need a little more time to refine the far eye and the hair and such. I'm mostly pleased with the blending of the tshirt with the bg And he DOES have pointy elven ears

    and a closeup:

    I'll post the steps soon.

Also I did a tutorial for the nice guys at http://free3dtutorials.com, here it is if anyone is interested.

    http://free3dtutorials.com/art-theor...g-of-qiane.php

They were nice enough to give me a subscription to any of their sites, so I picked http://www.human-anatomy-for-artist.com/
Here's a quick figure study from there. Only 20 mins in so far but 'll post progress shots through the week.

    *ViRuS*: Thank you!

    DanielC: Thanks a lot

So I started with YET another SP. This one's for Rebecca's Self Portrait as a Creature Workshop.

    Whee, portraits+creatures= fun!

Need to start fixing the face structure. I'm some kind of a vampire-cat-bird-tarsier-axolotl( the hair will be axolotl gills-ishy) or something.

Both of your SP's look great!

The Birdieboy detail... Hmm... BEautiful textures and colours, but the meeting of crotchal area with abdomibelly, and the flow of the wrinkles there, seems all wrong to me.
