    Thanks!!!

Whew! Heres the deal. I've totally been stalking your sketchbook over the last few days. Weird, huh? I know. I'm totally new to this game...just bought a wacom a few weeks ago. You are among the group of artists I have run across on CA.org that have me totally excited about digital painting. Thanks for that!

I'm not usually so into grotesque imagery but your craft is pushing it towards the sublime. Its kinda funny that although you've been called the "queen of skin" you give most of your subjects the most effed up skin treatments. God, I couldn't bring myself to touch any of them! I totally dig the doll-like ones...especially the one with the beard, nice juxtaposition.

If you have a few minutes check out my sketchbook...just posted my first few images (as in really the first stuff I've done). I could use the feedback.

    Best of luck to you!

    STUNNING ART!
    #277 is soo beautiful

One thing that just striked me:
In your life painting, which looks great , is the reflection really correct? Because on the bottle it seems that the fruit and the two eggs lay in a line, but they don't, do they?

Sorry for the superslackery! I keep starting new projects and immediately get swamped with work, gah. Not for long though, whee.

Pandanus: Thank you very much! I was recently gifted a book on Rembrandt by D.M.Field. It's a pretty small book but the print quality is very nice! I end up looking for bigger images online when I want to do a study though.

Chupacabra:Congrats on your wedding again! I'm hoping the Germany workshop gets announced soon, I'm looking forward to hang out with you guys

courtyard:Thank you so much! Nothing on the Rembrandt yet.

Ridz:That's very kind of you, thanks!

dwardo:Hahah poor thing huh? Thanks, will do!

    OmertA:Thank you for stopping by!

    danlambert: *bows* thanks!

Blitz:Thank you so much! About influences, hmmm I am not sure I can stop once I get started! I like so many different aspects of artwork by so many different artists! If you really want I'll list them out though.

matejkovacic: Thank you! I've been advised to start looking at the whole image though, I guess I get too lost in details, haha.

silent_k: Wow, thanks a bunch for the very kind words. I don't know about the queen of skin, I know many other much more deserving artists( female and male), hehe. Thanks for stopping by!

    davi:Thanks Davikins!

    Hocus Focus:Thank you!

Frank Gressie: Thank you very much!

    Kfeeras: Thanks a lot!

Eiki: Hahah, you might be correct. Someone pointed that out too, I think I messed up the values, which might cause the depth illusion. I swear it looked like that though

    Abductee:Thank you!

DanielC: Your wish is my command

Incinerated: Hahaha, that made me laugh. Thanks!

So, I guess this will be one of those disappointing updates-all WIPs. This is mostly all the work I started in the last few months and couldn't update because of deadlines and such at work. I'm taking a loooooong time off starting mid Nov though, I hope to have daily updates after that, the no-too-embarrassing kinds I've been taking a bunch of CA classes online including one that had a portfolio review and I have learnt so much in the last few months, I can't wait to apply it all!

This one I started for the NewBorn contest. It is supposed to be a Shaman's rebirth (physical death->come back with knowledge from the otherworlds->reborn as a wise shaman) with his totem-spirit guide guiding him along the journey. My inspiration for the pose was the Pieta, as is probably obvious. I had a friend pose for me though. I hope to get on this and finish it off

It's all looking pretty awesome! For the hairstyle tests, I would suggest hitting some more of the bright highlights - right now their hair is looking kind of dull and lifeless.

For the Alice & Caterpillar color tests, I prefer the first one, since the lighting looks a bit more natural. Of course, if you're going for more of a creepy, trippy feel, I think the third one works the best for that.

Chupacabra: Thank you so much! You continue to inspire me everyday

    andres333: Thank you!

    Gloominati:Thank you so much!!

DanielC:Thanks a lot! Need to finish that one!

Evergrey: Thanks you so much. I think I lost interest after painting the eyes though, haha.

Cacodaemonia: Thanks! The hairstyle test was just a quick pass to decide on the silhouette really. The project is long scrapped though:-/
Thanks for the caterpillar suggestions too! I'm always confused between making it realistic, dramatic or super dramatic. Sometimes I want to do everything in the same pic which leads to a massive fail. I'm going to try out some more color keys.

    GEB: Thank you!

Incinerated: Thanks a lot! That is veryyyyyy close to what I look like, I have better teeth though Um, what workshop though?

JellevdVegt: Thank you! You reminded me that I need to do more CA doll portraits

    So...here's Stoph!!

Here's a still life for today, from life. About 1 and a half hours, I'm actually surprised at how fast it went. I guess that means I should have paid closer attention to what I was doing, probably a lot of errors there. Oh well, 2:30 am and time to crash

    Cool

Your artwork/sketchbook is fantastic!!!! Your creatures are awesomely weird and wonderful. You show so much versatility being able to go from those creations to your doll portraits, caricatures, portraits etc! All with such beautiful skin and light. I want to have a torrid affair with your art and then marry it!
