Cool work in here man. The perspective on that hole in the top of the cave looks a little off, almost like we're looking above it. Play with that a bit if your still working on it. Keep it up!!

    RickyS: Thanks.

    jskotte: Thank you very much!

Kristoff: Thanks... I think enviros are one of my weaker spots....... figures are my weakest.

Omerta: Markers are fun! They make you work with what you have down and keep you moving onwards.

Jasper: Great catch. I'm hoping to find some time and get a nice portfolio piece out of it.

    Zorcron:

More work on the peace thing. Not done yet.

    Attachment 941422

Some closeups. Sorry for minor blurriness.

    Attachment 941423

A comic based off of the book No Great Mischief. This is following the story of the dogs in the book. The theme throughout is "trying too hard and caring too much" It turned out so depressing it's almost funny.

    Attachment 941425

Some sketches of Darwin. Strangely enough he wears almost the same outfit in all the photos/drawings I can find of him. Weird.

    Attachment 941426

More on the cave. The jpg file seems to bump the brightness up from what I see in PS so a lot of stuff that looks like uninterrupted dark turns out a gross. Also, the more I work on it, the more regular the rock formations get. Poo.

Hello my good friend. Great thing that you posted some new work, that is the sign that you are doing ok and everything is great around you.

The peace subject is going well, keep working on it, maybe do a little more details and all will be fine.
The cave is not looking really realistic, and those things do not look like rocks, they more look like piled up fat, like fat on the human body or something similar. Try to work more there on texture and materialization.

The comic book pages, are ruined, sorry I have to say ruined just because of one thing: the text is on most of the part un-readable.
No matter what you do or how you illustrate your story, no matter how crappy or how good your drawings are, one thing is a must: your text must be done with a clear and readable fonts.
Like this, I have tried to focus on the story and I can see what is on the pictures but at some point I cannot read the text clearly , let's say in the first quarter of the story, I already cannot read clearly and I am automatically losing the concept, the idea of the whole story. That is how the readers will easily lose the interest of the story and will not see what you have tried to say.
You have to think about that the next time, you do a comic book, and make the fonts a little bit larger.
I hope I was not too harsh with these statements.
All I wanna do is help.
I am glad that you tried different things and mediums.
Do more, post more, I will be following.

The 'peace thing' is starting to look very good
The colours make a nice contrast (i like the blue tones so much!) and the way those soldiers hold hands is very touching.

Wonderful overall mood pixie, can't wait to see it finished.
Portraits and everything else looks good too!

LtPlissken: Thanks for the crits. I agree the rocks look a bit iffy. I think part of the problem with the comic is that I posted the images smaller than life size so that you could see them all without excessive scrolling. Here's one page at life size. You weren't to harsh at all. I'm quite happy I'm getting crits and you gave me something to remember the next time I do a comic.

    jskotte: Thank you my dear.

    Blacky: Thankee, thankee.

Got accepted of OCAD for illustration. And Ryerson for Architecture. Gahhhhh..... I've had no time to draw until today really, and boy did I make up for it. I made a 6 foot long painted dragon with movable joints and body for a friend's bday over the weekend. Then I had a badminton tournament today so I took my sb along and did some gestures. Drew some friends on the bus. The girl on the page with math on it is nearly a perfect likeness. (So excited! ) And did some master value studies/comp studies, but by that point I was completely dead so they suck.

    Attachment 950004

    Attachment 950006

Other gestures from a couple of days ago. All from imagination. Did a PS thing but it was utter poo so it's not going up.

    Attachment 950009

Oooo... and I added a link in my sig with a thread I'm going to loading pics of my jewellery onto. I figure I mention it enough, I might as well show some too.

    Hey, you've been busy!

I like the studies, you're improving! Love the statue on the page before. It's also great that you did the comic, you develop both figures and enviros that way. It's a really sad story though...

    Cheers and keep it up!

-_______- such a sad comic, but I really liked it, good composition in it.
I can advise you to work more on your lines in those sketches from life.
Cheers! Update more, and make those updates better and better xD i'll try too, thow my colors and values need more effort.

BlackDelphin: Here you go! Look down. I tried taking three of the ps gestures and making them into real people but they really, really sucked.

The Whistler: Thanks! Probably one of the most sad stories out there. And to think I left out the part about Calum Ruadh killing a man who kicked the dog!

    Kristoff: Thanks.

Some more people. The stuff on the portrait orientation pages is from imagination, and a little of the landscape ones too. Sooooo messy! Mostly from magazines though. I really cannot get into sketching in Ps. I have no idea why. I like sketching in pencil crayon though!!!!!!

Great new studies. You are definitely improving with your figure drawings. Every visit to your pages is followed with a pleasant surprise. You gave us a perfect example, how progress is being made by strong will.

    I wouldn't say they suck!

I particularly liked the page before the last one. It has some nice shapes, but some proportions are off, making the shapes less lady like.
Folds n overall clothes are looking fine on the other hand!

Can't wait n see what you'll update next time!

great updates, the figures studies of arm legs look really good, but if you want to do the manikin (stick figure), then I would suggest looking at the Loomis ones, since at the moment the first ones don't have any hips and the legs seem a bit short on some of them.
And thank you so much for taking time to do a paintover of my image, you are right about the contrast, I really need to work on that.

Blacky: Thanks! I fixed the legs a bit. I need to do some ref work etc. Meh....

Kristoff: Hmmm..... what sort of setting? I personally think he's a bit bland. I like the gal next to him. she looks like she's going to poison someone or something like that!

jskotte: No prob. Thanks for the tip!

    Zorcron: Thanks!

More work on this. I've toned down the random colours a bit and now that I've been looking at it for a while, and I think the clouds are unbalancing it a bit. The guy's also blending in too so I think I'm going to have to add some green into this cloak thingie.

Oooh snap!! Lovely figures and sketches you have here pix. Finally an update!! tehehe

The wip is looking good too, but i hope you were thinking of changing the composition a bit..
the cloth he is wearing for example makes one go outside the frame.

I may be wrong and i may have done a crappy job, but i just wanted to help.
Sorry if you didn't want any paint over jobs either.
I am trying to understand composition myself, so if i'm wrong, please be harsh n tell me why

LtPlissken: Thanks. Legs noted again! hehe.... Those legs....

Blacky: I think you're right. I'm not the greatest a composition either. I tried it anyway!

The final. I'm quite happy with this one. I think keeping it simple, allowed me to get it done before I was bored. Some brainless sketches as well.
