    Dreams

The core idea of this painting is on the sign. "My dreams chase me as I chase my dreams." I had been having alot of dreams where Iw as being chased and didn't know why until a friend mentioned that perhaps I had alot going on. @ the time, I was in school, I was doing pro bono storyboards for xp, working on animation pitches for television, and a painting for a friend. I made the sketch and forgot about it until now(I'm on x-mas break!).

I always did love original work like this!

I do have to say is that you shouldnt be so lazy on your coloring, I could see that you just plopped that painting tool down, but should consider to hide your simple coloring.

also shading needs work, on the boy, the grass, and on lightig as well.

Cool concept, I'm digging it! Gotta work on the shading a bit though, especially in the text. I can't tell if it's beveled, or chipped out of the sign, either way, the light doesn't reflect correctly on it seeing as it's directly overhead yet your shading is all over the place.... I agree with ZappaForEver about the refining of the color, it would do your piece better justice.

    Keep it up!

    Update

Thanks for the feedback! I'm def. going to resolve the colour/lighting as I continue on this one. Going to be one hell of a transformation.

Alright so if you go to the members section, you can dl a .psd file by Coro..the water one. It's absolutely fantastic to learn from, he slowly builds up his colour with layers rather than direct styles.

I don' think I'm going to work on this anymore...learned lots about using layers. I'm particuarly proud of the effect I got with the water using the one brush and a bunch of diff. layers. Anyway, here it is.

    Thanks for looking!

I can't read the core idea. And the glow off the light is obnoxious. Try to avoid photoshop glows. Shadows make lights look like they are glowing. Glows look like you own photoshop.

    At least Icarus tried!
