    nerf indeed.....

EDIT: so.. it has to be actual snake-head Medusa? Or can it be someone wha has the same intimidating qualities as Medusa? Or a queen with a crown of golden snakes?

Also weird since I'm currently doing a commission for a Medusa of sorts! So I guess I'll be doing 2 versions now :p

And thanks to Donato for his words of wisdom and advice ~

    Excellent.
I hope, hope, hope I can do one for the queen, but LMS is melting my brain.

I'm not so good with the advice...Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Our favorite CA seasoning has this up for the brief:

"For this character, reinterpret Medusa as a queen – you are given free reign. Bring out your big guns and show us what you’ve got. Do the most beautiful, terrifying, captivating and engaging character you can. Take our breath away."

I would think that means - base it on either, but in the end it's YOUR interpretation.

Oh mang, I am so in. It'll be scary to submit it at the workshop, though...

    Scary in a good way.

    I'm already terrified, haha! yay!

I MIGHT do this but I doubt it. Basically every character I've ever done has failed miserably... although that gives me the perfect incentive to participate!

Would love to do this one... although I cant even finish the last one

Ok here's my sketch... might try and get this done this week while I have some time : )

One story is that the Medusa was sent by Athena to live with two blind Gorgon sisters after she was transformed.
The idea behind this sketch is that Medusa succumbs to her need to look in the mirror and is subsequently turned to stone.

Chow 100 :: Medusa the Queen

Updated sketch... cheers for the help XTN. Medusa has gone a little nutty and thinks her stone victims are her subjects... the Gorgons can do little to persuade her otherwise being blind and all... and lacking in tongues.

Chow 100 :: Medusa the Queen

I was lucky enough to get back from my holiday in time to rework a few things. Thanks to all who gave crit. Here's my final entry... any more advice would be appreciated. Good luck all - Jez

6th Jan eh... Medusa eh... Sounds fun!

EDIT: First WIP. Medusa's Revenge! Poor Perseus... Needs more snakes!

This is the 2nd version, without the floaty dress and the brazier... works better, I think...

Chow 100 :: Medusa the Queen

Worked on Medusa a bit more and cropped it to see what it looked like. Kind of like it,
but will probably do the whole image seeing as we've more time.

Chow 100 :: Medusa the Queen

Anuver oopdate! Lots to do yet. I really want to get some gold texture working on the dress, and other stuff. Got rid of Perseus as well. Anyhow... bleh...

Chow 100 :: Medusa the Queen

Yet another... Not liking the dress right now, so more changes acoming. The next stage is to start tightening up details. Crits welcome!

Chow 100 :: Medusa the Queen
