BlackDelphin: heya Christine, thanks, yea was having a little fun with a bit of chibi style on that last sketch and yea the enviro lighting is all over the place was trying to practice making the enviro based on richard anderson's process it was an utter fail hehe!

    Hey there
Your figures are getting a loooot better lately! How did you do that?
Just a little crit: Watch your heads, I noticed that they are pretty small in all your anatomy studies. like in #953, the head is as big as his arms. But you're doing really great. You're going to kick asses!! Yay

AvisNocturna: big thanks Nele! thanks for the crit on the head portion, and it does look really wonky now that i look back at it but then again when i look back at all the figure sketches the proportions are really off but will keep working on that fo sure! i think it's just sheer detest and boredom i have at my job that makes me want to sketch more so trying to get the dots faster hehe plus so much inspiration in great SB's like yours and others here on CA!

was going to take it easy today but realized i got off tomorrow and work saturday so here's a stylized gestural sketch and enviro...

*edit* not sure why the images are coming out so blurry after loading with the upload manager, nm just ran the unsharp mask filter over it twice and reuploaded but still comes out a bit softer than what i see on screen

plus if any of you are interested there is quite an inspirational speedpaint forum over at sijun here's the link for anyone interested, sijun speedpaint forum

Always a joy coming here, full of such energy, love, info and most of all art!

Your capturing form so much better now Micheal, such a great sense of texture and dimension. Love it

Your figures have come along way man, you can tell some great considerations gone into the construction of the anatomy now. Still room improve, but dude its getting they aye!

You pump out these awesome enviros and concepts, I really think you should start aiming them towards something. Whether its a whole world, part of a story or even just a well rounded portfolio. But you may be doing that already tho

Cheers for the constant love an support in my sketchbook dude, bloody appreciate it!
    Keep at it Mike,
    matt

yo i agree with matt---your figures have a lot more richness to them now, much like your enviros do. the strokes sweep across the canvas with really nice movement. MOAR PLEASE.

Matt & Larissa: thanks both of ya'z! seriously u guys are too nice to this noob or old newb now hehe! Matt i just decided I do this as hobby so not really working on a portfolio but i can't wait to see which kick ass design studio u and hala will be working for! Larissa how the f#!K are you mang?! how's life? skewl?? Plus Matt I really dig the ur sketch style that's emerging, might have to bite off ya for a bit hahaha!

tried to paint the face as fast as i could but was a bad idea hehe, first is a lop sided 10min sketch and the second i just blended the first sketch with blur brush and then reshaped and threw a few cross contour lines...

Thanks again for your crit, it really opened my eyes!
I'm amazed that you told me that you 'couldn't render' and I come here and I'm floored by how gorgeous your enviros are! Especially those two in post #811.
Beautiful stuff, I can't wait to see more!
